Some events are so big that even adversaries put the usual fight on hold to deal with it. I’m not saying that’s exactly what we’re seeing here, because frankly I suspect we are seeing layer upon layer of misdirection and information warfare at play.
Nevertheless, when a Democratic Senator comes right out and says what Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn) just said into a mic, knowing it would be seen by his own Democrat base as well as Republicans… it’s worth paying attention to.
Check out the video here, and then we’ll dive in to what is happening:
BREAKING: Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal says citizens will be shocked, astonished, and appalled when the truth comes out about the Trump assassination attempt pic.twitter.com/GOFx6IvUjK

Keep in mind, that isn’t a Trump-aligned Republican with nothing to lose by saying that, true or not. That is a bread-and-butter Democrat who has quite a lot to lose by playing into the hands of Republicans. (That’s how most Democrat voters will react to it.)
Here’s what I found when I started to dig a little deeper, according to Fox News:
Acting U.S. Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe provided senators with an update Thursday on the investigation into the failed assassination in a closed-door meeting.
“I think the American people are going to be shocked, astonished and appalled by what we will report to them about the failures by the Secret Service in this assassination attempt on the former president,” Blumenthal told Fox News. “But I think they also ought to be appalled and astonished by the failure of the Department of Homeland Security to be more forthcoming, to be as candid and frank, as it should be to them in terms of providing information.”
ADVERTISEMENTBlumenthal didn’t go into specifics about what he learned from Thursday’s meeting. Despite his statements, other lawmakers refused to comment on how the public may react to their report. (emphasis mine)
Notice the fact that he was the only one commenting on what he learned? Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis) was also privy to the same update on the investigation yesterday. Did he talk about it, even by characterizing the likely response of Americans when they learn the truth? No — not really.
Here’s what the Republican Senator who heard the same update had to say, and I’ll embed the full-size video below for you to watch:
There are more questions than answers at this point in our bipartisan Senate investigation of July 13th. We will continue to press the Secret Service and FBI for witnesses and documents.

I find it very interesting — neither the Republican nor Democrat senator was willing to go into specifics. But the Republican shied away from saying anything other than the expected “we’re going to do a good job and push for more answers”, while the DEMOCRAT was willing to tease us with what sounds like scandalous revelations!?
Could it be that the Republican Senator knows the information coming out is damning to the democratic party, and potentially implicates them in some way — and so, he feels no need to showboat? Quite the contrary, he doesn’t even come close to giving us the insight the Democrat does!
And could it possibly be that, maybe, the Democrat Senator also realizes that a devastating reaction against the democratic party is coming once the truth comes out, and is trying to get ahead of the firestorm? Is he simply pointing to the thing he knows will be pinned to some degree on him, in an effort to lessen the severity of the blowback? (Sort of like my 6-year old pointing to the mess HE MADE, but hoping to get a reduction in my response by nobly alerting me to how upset I’m going to be… in advance?)
Those are just my hunches. We shall see.
The Daily Caller also ran with this story, and apparently we can expect this so-called Bipartisan report to come out soon.
Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee members joined acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe for a private briefing about the shooting in July, according to the New York Post.
Republican Senator Ron Johnson also voiced concerns, and wrote in a Twitter post that the bipartisan investigation “will continue to press the Secret Service and FBI for witnesses and documents.”
Johnson’s office confirmed to the Daily Caller that the report will be out “within the next couple of weeks.” The Caller also reached out to Blumenthal’s office but has not heard back at the time of publication.
Democrat and Republican senators on the Homeland Security Committee have emphasized that the investigation and ensuing report will be completely bipartisan, the Post reported.
We aren’t promised a specific date, but “within the next couple of weeks” we can expect one of two things: more stalling by the FBI and/or Congress, or… truth? I really want to know what information prompted a long-time Democratic Senator to so blatantly provide fodder to his political enemies, and simultaneously put himself in the potential hot seat with his own voter base.
Meanwhile, a quick update that dovetails into this story, which we recently reported to you concerning a high-ranking Secret Service Official whose retirement was allegedly being fast-tracked because of his proximity to the situation surrounding the assassination attempt.
The Secret Service, including Acting Director Rowe, pushed back against earlier reports by Fox News to that effect. Here’s a more current Fox News report on that situation which seems to show Fox News standing by their original reporting — and even expanding it to include other Secret Service employees being pressured to retire early to allegedly avoid the investigation as it continues:
Meanwhile, Several senior Secret Service officials who planned to retire soon have been encouraged to do so more urgently to escape the scrutiny from Congress over the next several months.
ADVERTISEMENTFox News has been informed that several high-level Secret Service officials who have either direct or indirect connections to the Butler, Pennsylvania security situation are retiring. While the employees are eligible for retirement, they’ve been encouraged by senior leadership to do so more quickly to avoid lengthy congressional interviews and investigations.
One way or another, I am convinced that the truth will come out. And I believe we are seeing posturing from those who have something to lose when that truth comes out. I’m sure there will be more to report in the coming days.
