It was my all-time FAVORITE MOMENT of the entire debate! But it wasn’t a policy difference. It wasn’t a zinger about being a “Marxist”. (She is, though.) It wasn’t even when he called her out for stealing HIS policies, or hit her on a dozen other issues — all of which I care deeply about.
In fact, it could almost go unnoticed in the mix of big moments during tonight’s debate. Except for the little tagline that President Trump dropped at the end: “….sound familiar?” — letting you know that there’s something really juicy, almost scandalous, about what he just did. And if you get the reference, you’ll “get” President Trump.
It’s actually what I love about him the most — more than ANYTHING ELSE.
Watch this moment. This is great, even if you don’t quite know what he’s got up his sleeve when he asks her, “…sound familiar?” Though I have a feeling a few of our readers will get that reference right off the bat.
BREAKING: Trump just did the most SAVAGE thing ever. He was talking, and Kamala Harris tried to interrupt, and he said, “Wait a minute, I’M TALKING NOW!”

Now that is straight up hilarious to begin with. But trust me — it’s so much better once you really get what he’s doing! Let’s get a little context for that clip as reported by The Hill:
President Trump stopped one of his answers during Thursday night’s presidential debate to tell Vice President Harris that he was speaking.
Harris, with her microphone muted, said “that’s not true” when Trump said she was in favor of defunding the police.
ADVERTISEMENT“I’m talking now, if you don’t mind, please. Does that sound familiar?” Trump said to Harris.
Harris replied “don’t lie” into her muted microphone.
Now, let me just say — good on President Trump for calling her out for being part of the “defund the police” movement for MONTHS. The Harris-Walz campaign, with a widely complicit mainstream media, has done a really good job whitewashing that stain from most people’s memory. It wouldn’t do her “tough prosecutor” image any favors to bring that fact to light, but I digress — that’s not what really stirred me up.
What if I told you… President Trump had that zinger lined up, just for her, because she had once used it on his own VP during a Vice Presidential debate with Mike Pence back in 2020? Well, well, well — how the turn tables. And before we connect all these wonderfully satisfying dots (trust me on this!), let me remind you that Kamala Harris has a history of being shushed.
Just in case you didn’t remember the time Chuck Schumer shushed and scolded her for playing around during a press conference — there you go. Not only does she have a history of being shushed, but the case could be made that she has a history of requiring it, and reacting badly to it. All joking aside… (I’m totally not done joking about this.)
Let me turn to a story from Just The News to highlight that backstory:
Presidential nominee Donald Trump stole Vice President Kamala Harris’ line on Tuesday from the 2020 vice presidential debate, saying, “I’m talking now, if you don’t mind.”
During the 2020 vice presidential debate, when Harris faced off against then-Vice President Mike Pence, Harris said to her opponent, “Mr. Vice President, I’m speaking.”
On Tuesday, when Trump mentioned Harris’ record on “Defund the police,” Harris attempted to respond. “Wait a minute, I’m talking now, if you don’t mind, please. Does that sound familiar?” Trump said.

With the wonderfully scandalous backstory in mind, let’s watch that video one more time. But I want you to keep in mind what President Trump is doing. He isn’t just telling her to hush. He isn’t just trying to beat her at her own game; though, that’s part of it.
President Trump specifically chose to embarrass her exactly the same way she tried to embarrass his VP.
Are you catching this? President Trump, often called a “bully”, actually DETESTS bullies. And he’s one of those people who seems almost designed by God to be put on this earth to deal with bullies.
Kamala Harris is a bully. And President Trump handled her exactly like you handle any bully — you give them a taste of their own medicine; because that’s what they hate the most.
Now… how about we watch that video one more time:

First off, I don’t care who you are — that’s funny! But it’s even funnier, and it’s even more satisfying, when you realize that what we just saw, and what President Trump did during the debate, was exactly what we all love him for the most:
DEALING WITH BULLIES.
GIVING THEM A TASTE OF THEIR OWN MEDICINE.
That’s my favorite takeaway from the entire debate. And let me tell you why.
It wasn’t the most obvious or explosive moment. It wasn’t as heavy on the policy side, and there’s a lot I plan on digging through on that side of things tomorrow. But overall, that one moment was the most important moment of the entire debate for me. Because it tells me that no matter what the issue, the policy debate, or the danger that confronts this country and the American people — President Trump is literally built and designed to hold up under fire, and put bullies in their place.
And at the end of the day, for the Executive of the Executive Branch, that’s what it ultimately comes down to.
Do you stand strong, on principle — like President Trump?
Or do you fidget uncomfortably, spinning your wheels but getting no where, stuck in a state of ineffectiveness because you are constantly trying to pragmatically bluff your way through every tough situation — like Kamala Harris?
So when I hear him say to Kamala Harris, “I’m talking now…does that sound familiar?” — that moment crystalizes for me what I want most in a PRESIDENT. I don’t want a bully in the White House any longer. I want someone who STANDS UP TO BULLIES, whether foreign or domestic! And gives them a taste of their own medicine when the situation calls for it.
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for THAT to feel familiar, once again. God willing, we’ll all be feeling a lot more of that familiar American strength again, soon.
