People living close to the ExxonMobil Refinery in Beaumont’s Charlton Pollard area have been instructed to stay indoors because of a possible hazardous release.
An emergency notice was sent out by the City of Beaumont, urging residents to take swift action to ensure their safety.

Here is a copy of the Notice from the City of Beaumont:
“ExxonMobil Beaumont is issuing an immediate shelter in place for the Charlton Pollard Neighborhood. Go inside the nearest building. Close and lock all windows and doors. Turn off all ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and close any fireplace dampers. Seal all gaps under doorways and windows with wet towels or duct tape. Remain indoors until an official ‘All Clear’ notice is given.”
Currently, information is limited, and neither local officials nor ExxonMobil have released any statements about the reason behind the emergency. People in the vicinity are urged to remain indoors, adhere to the given guidelines, and stay tuned for more updates as the situation develops.
