“The President… He’s Not Listening to Anybody.” Witness Testimony in New Report

The U.S. House of Representatives has just dropped a 600+ page report detailing the findings of the House Foreign Affairs Committee that took a deep dive into the botched Afghanistan withdrawal overseen by the Biden-Harris administration.

It doesn’t look like they were in the mood to hand out participation trophies.  In fact, I don’t know how else to describe what little I’ve read other than “damning”.  I would also expect to see more reporting on this blistering condemnation of the administration’s handling of the withdrawal, simply because there is such a volume of information contained in it.

That was yesterday.  But I wanted you to hear what Mike Lawler (R-NY), who sits on the Foreign Affairs Committee, says in that clip:

“We’re finally going to have some accountability on this administration, after years of denials, refusals, and a lack of transparency.  There’s no question since the fall of Saigon that this was the most embarrassing display of a military operation — the administration failed miserably.”

It seems to be the season for reckonings for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and the democrats as a whole.  And that is exactly what this seems like to me, having read a few preliminary pages.

To dig in, let’s get a good overview from Fox News that just dropped the news of the report release:

Texas Rep. Mike McCaul, the Republican chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released a scathing report that took a fine-toothed comb to the military’s botched 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal and highlighted areas of serious mismanagement.

The Republican-led report opens by harkening back to President Joe Biden’s urgency to withdraw from the Vietnam War as a senator in the 1970s. That, along with the Afghanistan withdrawal, demonstrates a “pattern of callous foreign policy positions and readiness to abandon strategic partners,” according to the report.

The report also disputed Biden’s assertion that his hands were tied to the Doha agreement former President Trump had made with the Taliban establishing a deadline for U.S. withdrawal for the summer of 2021, and it revealed how state officials had no plan for getting Americans and allies out while there were still troops there to protect them.

This would be the perfect place to bring to mind Joe Biden, in his own words — proving he fully understood exactly what the results would be if he made the decisions he made.  No wonder Biden and Harris don’t want anything to do with the God Star families — the blood of those 13 Americans killed at Abbey Gate, and the sum total of atleast 182 killed in that attack, are directly on their hands.

He knew how long the logistical reality would take once the order was given.  He knew you could do it fast if you leave all the equipment behind.  And he knew what would happen if you did leave the equipment behind.

It makes me sick to my stomach to write this story, knowing we have yet to see the full ramifications of those terrible decisions.

I think when I first saw that picture, the size of the mistake we were making hit me for the first time.  Recognizing that those are the people who partnered with us to fight our shared enemy — and we left them, high and dry.  We literally picked up and abandoned the most strategic airbase in the region OVER NIGHT.  We didn’t even have the decency to fully warn our allies.

Let’s get a little more detail about what’s in the report from the Fox News story I referenced earlier:

Here’s a roundup of the findings of the 600-page report, comprised of tens of thousands of pages of documents and interviews with high-level officials that spanned much of the last two years:

The report found that Biden and Vice President Harris were advised by top leaders that the Taliban were already in violation of the conditions of the Doha agreement and, therefore, the U.S. was not obligated to leave.

The committee also found NATO allies had expressed their vehement opposition to the U.S. decision to withdraw. The British Chief of the Defense staff warned that “withdrawal under these circumstances would be perceived as a strategic victory for the Taliban.”

Biden kept on Zalmay Khalilzad, a Trump appointee who negotiated the agreement, as special representative to Afghanistan – a signal that the new administration endorsed the deal.

At the Taliban’s demand, Khalilzad had shut out the Afghan government from the talks – a major blow to President Ashraf Ghani’s government.

When Trump left office, some 2,500 U.S. troops remained in Afghanistan. Biden himself was determined to draw that number to zero no matter what, according to Col. Seth Krummrich, chief of staff for Special Operations Command, who told the committee, “The president decided we’re going to leave, and he’s not listening to anybody.”

In the end, Americans and U.S. allies were left stranded as the military was ordered to withdraw before the embassy had shuttered.

In one meeting, Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Brian McKeon rejected military officials’ warnings, saying “we at the State Department have a much higher risk tolerance than you guys.” (Emphasis added.)

You caught that, right?  The State Department was completely fine with what happened.  THEY UNDERSTOOD WHAT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN.  And they were okay with that: “…have a much higher risk tolerance than you guys.”

And then of course, the most damning bit of testimony I have read so far in this report.  According to Col. Seth Krummrich, chief of staff for Special Operations Command — “The president decided we’re going to leave, and he’s not listening to anybody.”

Remember that video I showed you earlier, Biden in his own words explaining to a “T” what would happen if he took the actions he took?  He knew.  And he did it, anyway.  With advisors and military experts telling him the same thing, he did it anyway.  He literally hung our allies out to dry, and got American servicemen killed, because he had made his mind up to do a thing, and was too stubborn to “listen to anybody”.

If that doesn’t sum up the last 4 years with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris at the helm, I don’t know what does.

Ineptitude + prideful arrogance = DISASTER.

They (Kamala was always last out of the room on these decisions, remember?), which means THEY were more interested in pursuing a course of action… than safeguarding American lives; or any lives, for that matter.  Boy, I could go down a tangent right there… with the Biden-Harris completely neglect of the value of human life.

There’s a lot in this report.  Hundreds of child brides sold as sex slaves.  Hundreds of former Afghan officials and their families murdered because we left them hanging in the wind — because Joe Biden and Kamala Harris left them hanging in the wind.

There is a lot in this report.  And as more of it is released in batches, there will be a lot to go through; a lot to come to terms with.  And hopefully, a lot of solid reasoning for American voters to recognize just how bad things will be… if we allow this arrogant ineptitude to continue under a Harris-Walz administration.

More to come as it becomes available.  The truth is coming out, and we will cover it — to the dismay of those responsible, and those complicit.
