Critics Call Out Hypocrisy as Biden Vacations During Kabul Airport Attack Anniversary

Monday marked the third anniversary of the Kabul Airport attack. While President Trump spent time remembering the fallen, Joe Biden was out on vacation.

This is just months after Biden roasted Trump for canceling a planned visit to a cemetery in France for American veterans.

From our friends at Fox News:

This past Monday marked three years since 13 American service members were killed in a suicide bombing attack during the withdrawal from Afghanistan, while Biden stayed away from the White House for the second week in a row.

President Donald Trump stood in solemn remembrance of the fallen service men and women who died during the Kabul Airport attack.

But where was Joe Biden?

Other than a written statement, nothing on Biden’s calendar gave pause for the third anniversary of a terrible event and the lives that were lost.

The article later continues:

The White House released a statement on the anniversary, but Biden did not attend any memorial ceremonies, according to his public schedule.

“Three years ago, an ISIS suicide bomber launched an attack of deliberate evil at Abbey Gate outside of Kabul Airport—killing 13 American service members and more than 100 innocent Afghans. Today, and every day, we honor our fallen,” a statement from Biden read.

The president’s beach stay is his second vacation this month after spending the week of the Democratic National Convention in Santa Barbara, California.

So much for roasting Trump. Sounds like he had valid reasons for passing up on an opportunity to visit the war cemetery in France.

Per Fox News:

President Trump canceled a planned 2018 trip to a cemetery for American war dead in France because of the weather and not because of disdain for the slain soldiers who are buried there or concern about how the weather would affect his hair, two sources told Fox News, despite a report from The Atlantic making that claim.

The story continues:

Trump personally addressed The Atlantic’s story on Twitter.

“The Atlantic Magazine is dying, like most magazines, so they make up a fake story in order to gain some relevance,” he wrote Friday. “Story already refuted, but this is what we are up against. Just like the Fake Dossier. You fight and and fight, and then people realize it was a total fraud!”
