Of all the “swing states”, Michigan is probably the tightest.
And it’s 15 electoral votes also make it one of the most valuable.
Which is why a Michigan judge’s ruling against Democrats trying to keep Cornel West’s name off the ballot as an Independent is so significant.
BREAKING: A Michigan judge just issued a ruling against Democrats, forcing them to place Cornel West's name on the ballot as an Independent
This is a big-time loss for Democrats. West is bound to take many votes away from Kamala Harris

🚨Just in: Cornel West will remain on the ballot in Michigan as an Independent. This comes after a Michigan judge ruled against Democrats who were trying to remove him from the ballot. pic.twitter.com/xH499nzpv9

Victory in Michigan! We brought thousands of voices to the table, and the court listened, rejecting the Democrats' technical challenges. This is a win for democracy and for every person fighting for truth, justice, and love. Onward!#WestAbdullah2024 #Michigan #NotDroppingOut… pic.twitter.com/AyGSWMtlWh

And this is great for President Trump.
Why?
Because while I’m no Cornel West fan – and if you’re reading this I doubt you are either, West will take MORE-than-a few-votes from Harris. And in a state which could come down to a percentage point or two, that could be the backbreaker which gives Trump the giant mitten.
Check out Real Clear Politics current polling of Trump vs. Harris (you can probably ignore the Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll):

So even if West takes just a point or two away from Harris, you’ve got a tied race (according to the polls).
Mix in the benefit RFK Jr.’s endorsement should have on Trump’s vote totals, and Michigan is now very much in play to go red this Novemeber.
