Suspect Identified & Charged in Trump Campaign Office Break-In

The person who allegedly broke into a Trump campaign office in Virginia has just been identified.

Authorities suspect 39-year-old Toby Shane Kessler, who has a long history of problems with the law and no fixed address (a.k.a. homeless.)

A warrant for his arrest has been made, but he has not been found yet.

The New York Post reports:

Virginia police on Wednesday released the name and photo of the suspect wanted for burglarizing a Donald Trump presidential campaign office.

Toby Shane Kessler, 39, broke into the Ashburn office, about an hour’s drive west of DC, on Sunday and has not been located by authorities, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said.

“The burglary occurred at approximately 8:11 pm and was captured by surveillance video inside the office,” the office’s statement said.

“The LCSO’s investigation determined that Mr. Kessler forced entry into a back door of the location and spent a brief period of time inside before leaving. He appears to have left nothing behind, and it is still unclear what, if anything, he took with him.”

The sheriff’s department said it is “working with other law enforcement agencies to locate Mr. Kessler and is asking [for] the public’s assistance.”

“Mr. Kessler has a history of criminal behavior and appears to have been in the Washington metropolitan area at least since 2018. He has a California driver’s license,” the office said.

Kessler faces an arrest warrant on one charge of burglary.

Reuters added:

An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect in a burglary at an office of the campaign of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in Virginia on Wednesday, but the suspect has not been caught, law enforcement said.

Law enforcement said Kessler had no fixed address and said he has a history of criminal behavior.

This is the face of the man who broke into the Trump campaign office:

I have to ask: why was a homeless man with a long criminal history allowed to be out on the streets in a state far from where he seems to reside? And, where was the security, exactly?

Also, why isn’t anyone reporting on this? You’d think it would be a bigger deal that random homeless criminals can just break and enter into important political buildings — especially in an election year!

But, maybe, that’s just the point…
