Must Watch: CNN Panelists Triggered After Rep. Nancy Mace Mispronounces Kamala Harris’ Name

CNN panelists were outraged after Republican Rep. Nancy Mace mispronounced Kamala Harris’s name during her recent interview.

During a Thursday night appearance on CNN, Rep. Nancy Mace was rudely confronted after she mispronounced Kamala Harris’ name.

After being confronted, Rep. Mace stated, “I will say Kamala’s name any way that I want to.”

Vanderbilt University professor Michael Eric Dyson, who was on the CNN panel, told Mace, “If I purposely mispronounced your name, that would probably not be appropriate.”

As Mace repeatedly said Harris’s name in an attempt to pronounce it right, Democratic strategist Keith Boykin responded, “You had it right. You almost got it.”

“I will say Kamala’s name any way that I want to,” shot back Mace, which resulted in the panel becoming heated.

After Vanderbilt University professor Michael Eric Dyson protested Mace’s mispronunciation, the congresswoman replied, “I just did and I’ll do it again.”

Boykin and Dyson then proceeded to shout over Mace as CNN host Abby Phillip said, “One at a time, guys.”

“If I purposely mispronounced your name, that would probably not be appropriate,” declared Boykin, before Dyson told Mace, “You’re normalizing that kind of viciousness, man. You’re disrespecting the woman.”

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace has sparked backlash after repeatedly mispronouncing Vice President Kamala Harris’ name during an appearance on CNN.

“I will say Kamala’s name any way that I want to,” the congresswoman said after she was called out by other panelists on CNN’s NewsNight Thursday.

Social media users were quick to blast Mace, with some accusing her of being racist towards Harris, the first Black woman and person of South Asian descent to serve as vice president and the Democratic nominee for president.
