Trump: Inflation ‘People Don’t Have Funds for Groceries’

During a live chat on X with Elon Musk, President Donald Trump didn’t mince words about the current state of the economy.

More specifically, grocery shopping.

According to Trump, “a lot of people” are finding themselves priced out of filling up their carts.

“We’ve got to get the prices down,” Trump declared.

So many items are now four or five times more a few years ago.

Remember when food items would go up 5¢ a year? One year the medium fries at McDonalds would be 80¢, the next year it’s 85¢.

People go to the store expecting to fill a cart like they used to.

Now they’re walking out with barely anything because they just don’t have the money. How many times have you held a $20 in your hand, and the total used to be around $14, but now it’s $22.79? Not only does it cost more, it seems to always be over the amount you have to spend.

Grocery shopping has gone from a weekly chore to a financial nightmare.

And the kids are the ones to pay the price.

They don’t fully understand why they can no longer get the treats they love.

Breitbart reports:

President Donald Trump spoke about how “a lot of people” do not have the funds to be able to afford “a whole cart” of groceries.

“We’ve got to get the prices down,” Trump told Elon during a live interview on X. “You know, when I look at bacon costing four or five times more than it did a few years ago. When you look at some of the food products in grocery stores, people know — they can’t believe it. They used to be able to buy a whole cart, and today, a lot of people just don’t have the money. They go in and they can’t buy anything.”

During the interview, Trump also spoke about how people in the country “can’t buy groceries because they don’t have enough money.”

“The election’s coming, and the people want to hear about the economy and the fact that they can’t buy groceries because they don’t have enough money to buy groceries.”
