Former Trump Lawyer FLIPS Sides, Will Voluntarily Cooperate in Arizona ‘Fake Electors’ Case

Ex-Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis has just flipped on him by accepting a plea deal in the Arizona ‘Fake Electors’ case.

In exchange for charges being dropped against her, she has agreed to fully cooperate with the prosecutors.

In the past, Ellis worked together with Rudy Giuliani. She had been charged with fraud, forgery and conspiracy as part of the Arizona case and had plead not guilty.

The ‘Fake Electors’ case alleges that eleven Republicans falsely signed a document, calling themselves the real electors and saying Trump won Arizona in the 2020 election (which, he did, but I digress.)

Take a look for yourself:

AP reported:

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign attorney Jenna Ellis, who worked closely with his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, will cooperate with Arizona prosecutors in exchange for charges being dropped against her in a fake electors case, the state attorney general’s office announced Monday.

Ellis has previously pleaded not guilty to fraud, forgery and conspiracy charges in the Arizona case. Seventeen other people charged in the case have pleaded not guilty to the felony charges — including Giuliani, Trump presidential chief of staff Mark Meadows and 11 Republicans who submitted a document to Congress falsely declaring Trump had won Arizona.

“Her insights are invaluable and will greatly aid the State in proving its case in court,” Attorney General Kris Mayes said in a statement. “As I stated when the initial charges were announced, I will not allow American democracy to be undermined — it is far too important. Today’s announcement is a win for the rule of law.”

Eleven people who had been nominated to be Arizona’s Republican electors had met in Phoenix on Dec. 14, 2020, to sign a certificate saying they were “duly elected and qualified” electors and claimed Trump had carried the state in the 2020 election. President Joe Biden won Arizona by 10,457 votes.

Newsweek added:

Donald Trump’s supporters are publicly tearing into Jenna Ellis, after it was announced that the former Trump campaign lawyer had taken a plea deal in the Arizona “fake electors” case.

The agreement, which will see Ellis cooperate with prosecutors in exchange for the charges against her being dropped, was announced by the Arizona attorney general, Kris Mayes, on August 5.

Ellis previously pleaded not guilty to nine felony charges against her. In the case, prosecutors accused Ellis and 17 others of conspiring to overturn the 2020 Arizona election results in Trump’s favor.

“This agreement represents a significant step forward in our case,” read Mayes’ statement. “I am grateful to Ms Ellis for her cooperation with our investigation and prosecution. Her insights are invaluable and will greatly aid the state in proving its case in court.”

Ellis then posted a statement, written by her lawyers, to her X account. “We are grateful the Arizona Attorney General’s Office completely dismissed the indictment against Jenna Ellis as she was not involved in the so-called ‘fake elector’ scheme. Jenna was originally told she was not a target and her cooperation is her continued willingness to tell the truth.”

Ellis’ own Tweets suggest her cooperation is VOLUNTARY and not part of a plea deal:

Hope it’s worth it, Jenna.

I say this is a bad move.

What do you make of this?
