INTERVIEW: Donald Trump Weighs In On 25th Amendment Invoked Against Joe Biden

In an interview Thursday morning with “Fox & Friends,” President Trump said he doesn’t think the 25th Amendment should be invoked against Joe Biden.

According to the New York Post, Trump said Kamala Harris would be more dangerous as president.

He reportedly called her “real garbage” and “worse” than Biden.

“I don’t think they should use the 25th Amendment. Not long to go, you know, we have four months now and then he’s got another month and a half,” Trump said, according to the New York Post.

From the New York Post:

“I will say this, the world is in a very dangerous place. I think if [Biden] goes, [Kamala] then takes over and she’s worse than he is. I believe she’s a San Francisco radical. I believe she’s actually much worse and a way worse candidate than he is and she’s not doing very well,” he added.

When asked if America could survive if Harris were elected president Trump quickly responded “No” and slammed Harris for being “the most radical person we’ve probably had in office.”

The former president criticized Biden and Harris’ debate performance during the 2020 primary, saying, “I thought he was terrible but she was terrible. She was horrible.”

He then questioned how Biden could have picked Harris to be his running mate when he won the primary, saying she was the “meanest” person running and treated Biden terribly.

“She was the meanest person up there. She was meaner to [Biden] than anybody else. She accused him of being racist with the buses,” Trump added. “Not a very good debater and nasty, just nasty to him. And when he chose her I said ‘How do you do that?’ A person treats you so badly — he was treated so badly during the debates.”

Biden has faced numerous calls to resign or have the 25th Amendment invoked following his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential election.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) called on Joe Biden to “immediately resign from office” following his announcement that he would not seek reelection.

“If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough,” Johnson said.

“Regardless of the chaos in the current White House, our adversaries around the globe should be reminded that the U.S. Congress, the U.S. military, and the American people are fully prepared and committed to defend our interests both at home and abroad,” he added.

“If the Democrat party has deemed Joe Biden unfit to run for re-election, he’s certainly unfit to control our nuclear codes. Biden must step down from office immediately,” House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) said.

NBC Chicago reports:

At least one congresswoman, Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina, has talked about removing him from office using the 25th Amendment.

“If Joe Biden does not have the cognitive ability to seek reelection, he does not have the cognitive ability to serve the remainder of his term,” Mace said in a social media post on Sunday. “Tomorrow I will introduce a resolution calling on Kamala Harris to invoke the 25th amendment and assume the duties of acting President.

Elmhurst University political science professor Constance Mixon said there is a lot to make sense of now that Biden has withdrawn from the race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

House Speaker Mike Johnson has called on Biden to resign from office for the remainder of his term.

“He has the nuclear codes, he has major decisions to make every single hour of every single day…” Johnson said. “He does not have the faculties to do that right now.”

Others are talking about invoking the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, which under Section 4, allows for the vice president to assume the powers and duties of the president should he be unable to do so.
