Here we are again with another Biden blunder. In a BET News primetime special published July 18, Biden fumbled through another interview as he attempted to pander to black voters.
When it came down to bragging about his secretary of defense, Biden seemed to struggle to recollect Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin’s name! He resorted to simply referring to him as a “black man.”
Awkward much? Yes. Especially when the blunder came on the heels of Biden stating “it’s all about treating people with dignity.”
“It’s all about treating people with dignity,” Biden said in an interview with Black Entertainment Television (BET). “I named the secretary of defense, a Black man.”
“I named Ketanji Brown,” he added, referring to his appointment in 2022 of Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman on the Supreme Court.
It was unclear if Biden did forget Austin’s name or was simply referring broadly to administration members and appointees who are Black.
The president also seemingly forgot Austin’s name in March, calling him “the guy who runs that outfit over there.”

Anyone following Biden’s interviews and debates isn’t surprised. His cognitive decline has been a hot topic among many commentators.
Let’s see what our friends at Fox News have to say about Biden’s cognitive decline:
Such blunders do not instill confidence that Biden is able and capable of leading the United States.
In yet another case in point that he is no longer in full possession of his faculties; US President Joe Biden called his defence secretary Lloyd Austin, “the black man”, after he forgot his name while being interviewed on @BET; a major black media platform in the US! pic.twitter.com/Smuihp0apV

Social media is going crazy over Biden’s appearance of memory loss.
How could Joe Biden not remember the name of Lloyd Austin—the first African American to serve as the United States secretary of defense—who was nominated by Joe Biden???

Some people think the interview is being taken out of context.
…others suggested that Biden was listing the names of his Black appointees during his first term — a talking point he’s recently used on the campaign trail.
Take a look at the video and see for yourself.
The Democrats haven’t one-upped the Republicans in terms of a diverse hall of fame. We have Condoleezza Rice, Clarence Thomas, Ben Carson, and more.
We remember their names.
With all the awkward Biden gaffes, it’s no wonder Sleepy Joe is on his way out of the White House.
