Trump Reacts To Biden’s Decision To Drop Out Of The Race

Although the news was not necessarily a surprise given the Democratic Party’s ongoing effort to push Joe Biden out of the 2024 presidential race, when he announced his decision to drop out on Sunday, it immediately shook up the campaign.

Among those who offered a public reaction to the news was Donald Trump, who recently accepted the Republican Party’s nomination and had been expected to face off against Biden in a rematch of the 2020 election.

According to the New York Post:

Former President Donald Trump uncorked on President Biden in a no-holds-barred statement authored minutes after the 81-year-old announced he would be dropping his reelection bid.

“Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve – And never was!” Trump wrote on Truth Social Sunday afternoon.

“He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement. All those around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew that he wasn’t capable of being President, and he wasn’t,” Trump’s screed continued.

“And now, look what he’s done to our Country, with millions of people coming across our Border, totally unchecked and unvetted, many from prisons, mental institutions, and record numbers of terrorists.”

Trump’s response was among the many social media posts related to Biden’s decision.

The Biden administration released a social media statement of its own in which the president offered his endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris:

My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. Trump has previously indicated that he would relish the opportunity to take on the perennially unpopular Harris in the general election.
