Trump: “I Stand Before You Only By The Grace Of Almighty God”

President Trump gave God glory during his recent speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

During his speech, Trump formally accepted the Republican presidential nomination.

At the beginning of his speech, Trump stated, “I stand before you tonight here in this arena only by the grace of Almighty God.”

Trump later described that he felt very safe when a bullet hit him at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania and shared “I felt very safe  because I had God on my side.”

Check out what CBN reported:

Donald Trump officially accepted his party’s nomination as he addressed the country during the fourth and final night of the Republican National Convention on Thursday evening.

He took center stage to speak as the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nominee.

“I stand before you tonight here in this arena only by the grace of Almighty God,” Trump said.

His speech was preceded by a prayer from Evangelist Franklin Graham, and he was surrounded by loyal supporters and former rivals as he made the case for a potential return to the White House.

It’s the former president’s first major address since narrowly surviving the stunning assassination attempt less than a week ago, and he revealed beforehand that his brush with death had convinced him to soften the tone of his speech.

Thursday night he told fellow Republicans, “I had God on my side,” acknowledging that he “would not be here tonight” if he hadn’t moved his head just slightly before the first bullet was fired.

Per AOL:

This, after yet another introduction by an ultimate fighting executive and the raucous Kid Rock, set the table for Trump’s attempt at humility. He started unusually soft-spoken after surviving the bullet of an assassin just days before. Trump sought to claim the mantle as the candidate who is truly trying to save American democracy — with some help from above.

“I stand before you in this arena,” said Trump, “only by the grace of Almighty God.”

Clearly grateful to be alive, Trump ever so briefly offered an olive branch to a divided nation. “We rise together or we fall apart.” he said. “I am running for president for all of America, not half of America.”
