The Trump campaign has postponed agreeing to a date for a vice presidential debate.
Why?
They don’t know who the Democratic vice president nominee will be.
The uncertainty of the Democratic ticket has everyone in limbo.
“We don’t know who the Democrat nominee for Vice President is going to be, so we can’t lock in a date before their convention. To do so would be unfair to Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker, Gretchen Whitmer, or whoever Kamala Harris picks as her running mate,” Trump campaign Senior Advisor Brian Hughes said in a statement.

Despite reported conversations between J.D. Vance and Kamala Harris to lock in a date, there has been no agreement.
Per USA TODAY:
Donald Trump’s presidential campaign slapped President Joe Biden’s re-election team on Wednesday over questions about the timing for a debate between the candidates’ vice-presidential nominees.
Vice President Kamala Harris has already accepted three potential dates for a debate with Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio. In late May, Harris accepted an invitation by CBS News to debate on either July 23 or Aug. 13. She accepted a third potential date – Aug. 12 – on Wednesday.
The Trump-Vance campaign has yet to commit to any vice-presidential debate.

From The Daily Wire:
Wall Street Journal White House reporter Ken Thomas posted the news Wednesday afternoon on X that CBS had set a date for a potential match-up between current Vice President Kamala Harris and Trump’s newly-selected running mate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH).
“Biden-Harris campaign official says VP Harris has accepted a date of Mon Aug. 12th for the CBS VP debate with JD Vance,” he said.Later on Wednesday afternoon, the Trump campaign released an official response: “We don’t know who the Democrat nominee for Vice President is going to be, so we can’t lock in a date before their convention. To do so would be unfair to Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker, Gretchen Whitmer, or whoever Kamala Harris picks as her running mate.”
