During a new interview with BET, Joe Biden was asked if there is anything that would convince him to drop out of the presidential race — which everyone, even Democrats, know he is doomed to lose.
In response, Biden said that he would consider dropping out if he was diagnosed with a “medical condition.”
“If I had some medical condition that emerged,” he said, “if doctors came to me and said, you got this problem and that problem.”

The full BET interview with Biden will air tonight at 10 PM EST.
Axios reported:
Biden is battling a growing chorus of Democratic lawmakers calling on him to step aside after his disastrous debate performance last month sparked renewed worries about his age and fitness for office.
- The pre-taped interview with BET News is the latest in a series of media appearances the president has made since the debate to try and assuage concerns about his mental acuity.
- The interview will air tonight at 10pm ET on BET. The cable network released excepts in advance of the broadcast.
The big picture: Asked what would make him re-evaluate his reelection campaign, Biden said he would do so “if I had some medical condition that emerged,” according to an excerpt released by the network.
- “If doctors came to me and said, you got this problem and that problem,” he added.
- Biden also acknowledged that he had run for the presidency as a “transitional candidate” and that he had expected to “pass it on to somebody else.”
- However, he said he hadn’t expected how divided the U.S. would become.
- “There’s more to do and I’m reluctant to walk away from that,” he said.
Politico added:
President Joe Biden would reevaluate his decision to stay in the presidential race if doctors told him he had a medical issue, he said in an interview with BET News.
“If I had some medical condition that emerged,” Biden said, when asked if there was anything that would make him reconsider. “If doctors came to me and said, ‘You got this problem, that problem.’”
Biden’s comments, made Tuesday, marked the first time Biden opened the door to a theoretical medical condition forcing him from the presidential race. In an interview with ABC News a week after the disastrous debate, he defiantly insisted that only the “Lord Almighty” could get him to drop out of the race. Last week, he laid out a different scenario, saying during a press conference that he would step aside only if aides showed him proof he couldn’t win in November.
Biden has resisted growing calls from Democrats to abandon his reelection bid following the debate last month that raised fresh questions about his age and mental acuity.
Even Adam Schiff is now calling for Biden to drop out.
But the question is: who do they have to replace him?
Michelle? Newsom? Whitmer?
Who do you think it will be?
