Actor and musician Jack Black has repeatedly made it clear that he is all in for Joe Biden, but his Tenacious D bandmate recently took the political rhetoric to a disturbing new level during a recent concert in Australia.
Celebrating his birthday, Kyle Gass made a violent wish in the wake of a failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life.
To his credit, Black has since canceled future tour dates and other related projects, as Rolling Stone reported:
ALL REMAINING DATES on Tenacious D‘s Spicy Meatball Tour, as well as all future creative endeavors involving the comedy duo, have been canceled. This decision — announced via social media by Jack Black — comes following a recent performance in Sydney, Australia, during which Kyle Gass made a birthday wish on stage: “Don’t miss Trump next time,” referring to the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.
Attendees in the room responded with laughter, but a few right-wing politicians in Australia have responded with calls for deportation, and Black himself has noted that he was taken aback by Gass’ remark. “I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form,” Black wrote on Instagram Tuesday morning. “After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”

One Australian elected official has made his own statement, calling for the band to be deported in light of Gass’ alarming comment.

The on-stage outburst attracted significant attention on social media:
I used to love @tenaciousd and thought Jack Black was funny. None of them or their music/movies will ever be played in our home again. Ever. Sickening. Not funny and done in a foreign country is even worse. If you think it’s OK, unfollow and block me. pic.twitter.com/2KG2uzUKEY

Breitbart provided additional coverage of the response in Australia:
Senator Ralph Babet, leader of the United Australia Party, on Tuesday called for Tenacious D to be deported following the onstage response.
Babet claimed Glass’ comments were not a joke and he called on Australia’s immigration minister Andrew Giles to “revoke their visas.”
The senator issued a letter calling for deportation, writing: “Tenacious D should be immediately removed from the country after wishing for the assassination of Donald Trump at their Sydney concert.”
He continued: “I condemn in the strongest possible way the call to political violence by Tenacious D in Sydney on Sunday. To advocate and or wish for the assassination of a President is egregious, disgusting, filthy, evil, and not acceptable in any way, shape or form. This was not a joke, he was deadly serious when he wished for the death of the President.”
Here’s what Jack Black had to say about the state of U.S. politics during a recent fundraiser for Biden:
