TWO Trump VP Contenders Reportedly Told They Will NOT Be Chosen For Position

According to reports, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum have been informed they will not be Donald Trump’s vice president.

From the New York Post:

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum were told Monday that they will not be former President Donald Trump’s running mate choice, according to multiple reports.

Trump, 78, will announce his selection for the vice presidential slot on Monday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, he told Fox News this morning.

Trump reportedly will announce his vice president Monday at 4:30 p.m. ET at the Republican National Convention.

The top VP contenders heading into the convention reportedly include:

  • Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH)
  • Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)
  • North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum

With Rubio and Burgum reportedly out of the picture, does that mean Vance gets the nod?

According to Col. Douglas Macgregor, an anonymous source said J.D. Vance is set to become Trump’s running mate.

“Anonymous source reveals Trump will announce JD Vance as his VP pick at 4:30pm EST. What are your thoughts on JD Vance?” Macgregor wrote.

Vance was seen departing his Cincinnati, Ohio, home in a motorcade.

“JD Vance spotted leaving his home in a motorcade Is he going to be Vice President? If so, he would be a strong deterrent against the Deep State trying to remove Trump,” DC Draino wrote.

Per USA TODAY:

Advisers to Trump, whose party is expected to formally announce his vice presidential pick later in the day, had viewed Rubio’s residency in Florida as a drawback. The U.S. Constitution bans the electors who formally select the president and vice president from voting for both from their home state – and both Trump and Rubio call Florida home.

While Rubio could likely have overcome that hurdle by moving out of state, some advisers were wary media coverage of such a move would be a distraction for the campaign.

Among the top remaining contenders for the vice presidential nomination are Ohio U.S. Senator J.D. Vance and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, several sources have told Reuters in recent days. Still, some close to Trump had not ruled a dark horse contender as of midday Monday.
