Former Volunteer Fire Chief Corey Comperatore Identified As Trump Supporter Killed At Rally, Died A Hero

A former volunteer fire chief from Pennsylvania was identified as the victim killed by Thomas Matthew Crooks, the sniper who shot President Trump.

Corey Comperatore, 50, who previously served as the fire chief of the Buffalo Township, was shot and killed by Thomas Crooks, according to Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.

Comperatore’s sister, Dawn Comperatore Schafer, shared that Corey protected his daughter from the gunfire when the shots rang out.

Schafer wrote, “The hatred for one man took the life of the one man we loved the most. He was a hero who shielded his daughters.”

Comperatore’s daughter also wrote about her father’s bravery: “He truly loved us enough to take a real bullet for us.”

The man who was k*lled at Trump’s Pennsylvania rally has been identified as former fire chief for Buffalo Township, Corey Comperatore.

Rest in peace.

Comperatore’s last act on this planet was shielding his daughter from the bullets.

“The PA Trump Rally claimed the life of my brother, Corey Comperatore. The hatred for one man took the life of the one man we loved the most.”

“He was a hero that shielded his daughters. His wife and girls just lived through the unthinkable and unimaginable,” his sister said on FB.

“My baby brother just turned 50 and had so much life left to experience. Hatred has no limits and love has no bounds. Pray for my sister-in-law, nieces, my mother, sister, me and his nieces and nephews as this feels like a terrible nightmare but we know it is our painful reality.”

Here’s what The New York Post reported:

A former Pennsylvania volunteer fire chief was identified as the victim killed by a sniper who shot and wounded former President Donald Trump.

Corey Comperatore, 50, who served as the fire chief for Buffalo Township, was shot and killed by Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, at a rally for Trump that left the former president and two others wounded on Saturday, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said Sunday.

Comperatore’s sister, Dawn Comperatore Schafer, said her brother died while trying to protect his daughter when gunfire rang out during Trump’s speech.

“The hatred for one man took the life of the one man we loved the most. He was a hero that shielded his daughters,” she wrote on Facebook.

“His wife and girls just lived through the unthinkable and unimaginable,” she added.

Comperatore’s daughter, Allyson, called her father “the best dad a girl could ever ask for,” as she mourned his sudden death.

Allyson said that when the gunshots rang out, Comperatore quickly threw her and her mother to the ground to try to protect them after Trump was shot.

“He truly loved us enough to take a real bullet for us,” Allyson wrote on Facebook.

Per CNN:

Firefighter Corey Comperatore was killed during the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said Sunday.

Comperatore was one of the thousands of people who attended the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, part of Trump’s 2024 reelection effort. He died trying to protect his family, according to the governor.

Authorities have identified the gunman in Saturday’s attack as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was killed by Secret Service agents at the scene after the shooting. The FBI is investigating the attack as an assassination attempt.

“I just spoke to Corey’s wife and Corey’s two daughters,” Shapiro said Sunday.

“Corey was a girl dad. Corey was a firefighter. Corey went to church every Sunday. Corey loved his community. Most especially, Corey loved his family.”

“Corey was an avid supporter of the former president and was so excited to be there last night with him in the community,” the governor said.

Tragically, his last Twitter post was a reply to Catturd2 that he was attending the Rally.

So sad.
