Former President Donald Trump, who has more than anyone turned politics into a combat sport, will accept the GOP nomination at next week’s Republican convention in Milwaukee following a speech from Dana White, chief executive of Ultimate Fighting Championship.

A campaign official confirmed the speaking arrangement for Thursday night, the capstone of a dayslong convention that will highlight Trump’s dominance in the party.

White and Trump have a long history and Trump has often attended UFC events as a fan, while also helping him appeal to a younger audience. His walkouts at events draw an explosive reception usually reserved for the top fighters. Trump last attended an event in Newark, N.J., two days after his felony conviction in a New York hush-money case.

“F— Joe Biden!,” the crowd shouted as Trump took his seat next to White. Moments beforehand, White had appeared in a TikTok video with Trump, the first posting the former president made to the popular platform.

White spoke at Trump’s 2016 and 2020 conventions, praising Trump for helping the sport grow and for working to end Covid restrictions.

Per Newsmax:

UFC CEO and President Dana White will address attendees at next week’s Republican National Convention right before former President Donald Trump accepts the party’s presidential nomination, The Wall Street Journal reported.

White will speak next Thursday night, the four-day convention’s final day, the Journal reported Wednesday. He will be among the prominent speakers, expected to include Trump’s as of yet unannounced running mate, and members of the former president’s family.

Trump, who has been the presumptive GOP nominee since dominating the early primaries, will officially become the party’s pick to oppose the Democratic Party’s nominee, currently President Joe Biden.
