‘Not The Same Person’: Jill Biden’s Ex-Husband Slams Her For Pushing Joe To Stay In The Race

After last week’s disastrous debate performance, even many of Joe Biden’s staunchest defenders in the Democratic Party and mainstream media are now calling for him to step down ahead of November’s election.

First lady Jill Biden, however, remains unwaveringly committed to pushing him ahead in the campaign, whether he realizes he’s running for re-election or not.

And now her ex-husband is speaking out against her behavior, as Fox News reported:

Bill Stevenson, who was married to Jill Biden from 1970 to 1975, candidly discussed his ex-wife in an interview with the New York Post Saturday.

“The Dr. Jill Biden who I’ve seen on TV in the last five years is not the same person I married or that I recognize in any way,” Stevenson lamented. “She’s matriculated into a completely different woman.”

On Thursday, the first lady gushed about her husband’s debate performance despite immediate calls for Biden to drop out of the race.

“Joe, you did such a great job,” she told him at a debate after-party. “You answered every question. You knew all the facts.”

According to Stevenson, Jill Biden’s support of her husband is far from helpful.

“I just don’t understand why she is so adamant about defending him and keeping him in the race since it appears that he’s struggling,” Stevenson said. “It appears that he’s struggling with everybody these days.

“I’ve been proud of her at certain moments. I have no hard feelings. … I’m just surprised to see her front and center in the middle of this battle after flying under the radar for so many years. She’s always been very driven. People say she’s the one who wants to be president now.”

Her apparent thirst for power has sparked significant social media backlash from across the political spectrum in recent days.

As the Associated Press reported, Jill Biden’s defiant rhetoric continued during campaign stops on Saturday:

Jill Biden was right at her husband’s side Saturday as they exited Air Force One to head for a pair of campaign stops at luxurious vacation homes on Long Island. And she got straight to the point when it was her turn to introduce the president at a tony fundraiser.

“Joe isn’t just the right person for the job. He’s the only person for the job,” she declared.

The first lady also told donors, “Anyone can tell you what they want to do, but Joe Biden can tell you what he’s done with his judgment, his experience, and his relationships with leaders across the globe.”

The first lady is trying to rally support for her husband after a dreadful performance in Thursday’s presidential debate created fresh worries about President Joe Biden’s age and his ability to compete in November’s election and to serve another four years.

Here’s a clip showing how she literally led him off stage after the debate:
