Two of the most important men in the world, Elon Musk and President Trump, have formed a friendship behind closed doors.
At Tesla’s 2024 Cyber Roundup on Thursday, Elon Musk revealed that even though he “doesn’t know why,” Donald Trump calls him regularly “out of the blue.”
Responding to a question about Trump’s praise of Teslas, Musk said, “I have had some conversations with him and he does call me out of the blue for no reason. I don’t know why, but he does, and it’s like he’s very nice when he calls, and I was like ‘You know, I think electric cars are pretty good for America, and the future. Tesla’s the leader in electric cars, you know.’”
Musk also added that President Trump has a lot of friends who own Teslas and is “a huge fan of the Cybertruck.”

Business Insider has more:
Elon Musk may be influencing Donald Trump’s stance on electric vehicles during random phone calls between the Tesla CEO and former president.
Musk suggested as much during Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting on Thursday after investors voted to reinstate his multibillion-dollar pay package.
During a question-and-answer segment of the meeting, Musk was asked about the 2024 Republican presumptive nominee.
“Donald Trump has been a big critic of electric vehicles, but last week, he surprised us by saying he’s a big fan of Tesla and a big fan of you,” the man said, garnering applause. “What did you tell him?”
Trump has long railed against electric vehicles, painting the vehicles as inefficient and harmful to American autoworkers. Trump previously vowed to undo President Joe Biden’s EV policies and warned of an economic “bloodbath” should the likely inevitable transition to electric vehicles continue.
But in a confusing turn of events, Trump seemed to switch his tune at an Arizona rally earlier this month, telling the crowds that he is a “big fan of electric cars.”
Bloomberg added:
Musk said Trump is “very nice when he calls.” The Tesla CEO said he told Trump that EVs are good for the future and that the US is the leader in battery-powered cars.
“A lot of his friends now have Teslas, and they all love it, and he’s a huge fan of the Cybertruck,” Musk said. “So I think maybe those are contributing factors.”
During a lengthy question-and-answer session during Tesla’s meeting, Musk also fielded queries about his physical, mental and emotional health. One man asked whether Musk, who he called an “absolute idol,” was doing everything to “take care of yourself, safety and health, for the future of the company.”
ADVERTISEMENTMusk thanked him and said “I probably need to work out and not get assassinated or something.”
Musk’s comments follow President Trump praising him during his interview with Logan Paul:

What do you think?
Are these two a force to be reckoned with?
Does President Trump have plans for Elon, in the White House perhaps?
