Trump Makes Comment On Taylor Swift

A new book titled “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass” contains never-before-heard statements about what Trump thinks of country-pop star Taylor Swift.

When Variety co-Editor-in-Chief Ramin Setoodeh asked Trump what he thinks about Swift, Trump said, “I think she’s liberal. She probably doesn’t like Trump.”

Trump asked Setoodeh, “But she is liberal, or is that just an act?”

“She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act? It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal,” added Trump.

Here’s what The Hill reported:

Former President Trump is questioning whether Taylor Swift is “legitimately liberal” or if it’s “just an act,” wondering aloud about the “Shake it Off” superstar’s political beliefs.
“I think she’s beautiful — very beautiful!” Trump replied when asked about Swift, according to the forthcoming book, “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass,” from Variety co-Editor-in-Chief Ramin Setoodeh.

In an excerpt released Monday in Variety, Trump said of Swift, “I think she’s liberal. She probably doesn’t like Trump.”

Taylor Swift attends an in conversation with Taylor Swift event at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 9, 2022.

“But she is liberal, or is that just an act?” he asked Setoodeh.

“She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act? It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal,” Trump said, before the author noted that Swift crossed over to pop music years ago.

Despite dominating the charts — earlier this year, Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” became her 14th album to top the Billboard 200 — Trump wouldn’t exactly describe himself as a Swiftie.

Donald Trump still has bad blood with Taylor Swift.

The former President of the United States — who was recently convicted of all 34 counts in his hush-money case — reduced the musician to her physical appearance while discussing her in a forthcoming book, “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass,” which was written by Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh.

In November 2023, Setoodeh asked Trump his thoughts on Swift, whom the former described as “the biggest celebrity of our times” in a passage published by Variety on Monday.
