USA Today has more details on Trump’s fundraising swing through CA:
Flush with a torrent of small campaign donations following Thursday’s 34-count guilty verdict, former President Donald Trump is heading westward in a bid to continue the fundraising spree, to the land of sunshine, palm trees and tech billionaires.
A multiday trip to California this week is expected to rake in millions as he hopscotches from events in San Francisco, Beverly Hills and Newport Beach, where attendance costs as much as $300,000 per person.
California is home to many mega-donors supporting the presumptive Republican nominee Trump and President Joe Biden’s campaigns, making it both an inevitable stop for candidates during election years and an arena in the fight for billionaire backing. Though the fundraisers were announced before the verdict, efforts by the GOP to bridge the gap between Trump’s and Biden’s coffers will now broadcast a new message: Trump as “political prisoner.”
This news is a bit surprising, considering that California has long been considered a Deep Blue state.
One of President Trump’s attorneys is pointing out how this is a sign of things to come for the Biden campaign…
And it’s not good news for Biden and the Democrats.
Local news outlet KCRA 3 reported:
Donald Trump is coming back to California for a fundraising swing throughout the state this week.
ADVERTISEMENTThe trip comes a week after the former president was convicted of 34 felony charges in New York.
His first stop will be in San Francisco for a reception and dinner hosted by billionaire venture capitalists David Sacks and Chamath Palihapitiya.
Tickets range between $50,000 per person to $500,000 per couple. The event is reportedly sold out.
“I think it is just very telling; I would never have predicted that you’d have a sold-out fundraiser targeting tech leaders in Pacific Heights and for a Republican candidate,” said Harmeet Dhillon, one of Trump’s attorneys based in the Bay Area. Dhillon will be in attendance on Thursday night.
Dhillon said the event should be frightening for President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign.
“Frankly because California and California’s tech community have always been counted as squarely reliable Democrats, supporters and donors,” she said. “They are driving business leaders, including business leaders who would probably never have publicly said they would vote for him or support him or, much less, give him a check into his arms. And that is because of what we are witnessing with both the wrongful prosecutions in New York, the civil and the criminal, and what’s happening at the border, what’s happening to our economy, what’s happening to regulation of the tech industry, and what’s happening to these tech leaders.”
Damn straight.
“Frightening for President Biden’s reelection campaign” is right!
The Democrats were sorely mistaken if they thought convicting Trump in his bogus NY criminal trial would stop him, or even cause a fraction of his supporters to lose hope.
In fact, it’s had the opposite effect!
President Trump is raking in even more donations and support than before!
What about you?
Do you still back Trump?
