Harrison Butker, the talented kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, sparked backlash by endorsing traditional family values during a commencement speech at Benedictine College’s graduation ceremony earlier this month.
Although some critics have tried to “cancel” him or even force the Chiefs to kick him off the team, he’s gotten a lot of support — including from the wife and daughter of the NFL franchise’s CEO, Clark Hunt.
As Kansas City’s local Fox affiliate reported:
Gracie Hunt, daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, voiced her support on Friday morning for Butker as well.
“I can only speak from my own experience,” she began on FOX & friends. “I’ve had the most incredible mom who had the ability to stay home and be with us as kids growing up. I understand that there are many women out there who can’t make that decision but for me and my life, I know it was really formative in shaping me and my siblings to be who we are.
“I really respect Harrison and his Christian faith and what he’s accomplished on and off the field.”
On Thursday evening, Gracie’s mother, Tavia, posted on Instagram stating how much she believes finding a spouse and raising a family is “one of the greatest blessings this world has to offer.”

"I've always encouraged my daughters to be highly educated and chase their dreams. I want them to know that they can do whatever they want (that honors God). But I also want them to know that I believe… pic.twitter.com/UzVdV3UV8h

Plenty of others have expressed their support for his Christian conservative viewpoints.

Can we start a trend with women with degrees and careers but agree with Harrison Butker’s speech?
I’ll go first: my name is Noelle, I have three degrees, and I agree that the world needs more masculinity and that wives/mothers are vital for society. pic.twitter.com/qgoGmOJM1y

She nails it in support of Harrison Butker’s Commencement speech.

Of course, a group of nuns affiliated with the Catholic college joined forces with Butker’s leftist critics to issue a scathing rebuke:

But the controversy has only increased Butker’s status, as Fox News reported:
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s jersey sales have skyrocketed since his now-controversial commencement address at a private Catholic liberal arts school in Kansas, but members of the media don’t appear to be lining up for his merchandise.
As of Friday, Butker’s jersey was the “most popular” among Chiefs players, even ranking ahead of superstars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. The uptick in popularity comes as Butker is being shredded in the media for his faith-based commencement speech last weekend at Benedictine College, where he made a series of headline-generating remarks about women, the LGBTQ community and President Biden.
Here’s some additional coverage of the remarks by Hunt’s wife and daughter:
