Obama Campaign Official Dies In Tragic Car Accident

A former campaign worker for Obama died in a tragic car accident in Southern California last week.

Peggy Moore,60, along with her wife Hope Wood, 48, were passengers in a Jeep that crashed into a Chrysler sedan in Fallbrook, California.

The fatal crash resulted in both Moore and Wood being killed.

The driver of the jeep and the driver of the Chrysler were also pronounced dead on the scene.

Before marrying, Wood and Moore met while campaigning for Obama in 2008.

A former Obama campaign worker was killed last week in a car crash in Southern California along with her wife, according to friends and colleagues.

Peggy Moore, 60, and Hope Wood, 48, died Friday night when the Jeep pickup truck they were in collided with a Chrysler sedan on State Route 76 in Fallbrook, 55 miles north of San Diego. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said the Jeep was traveling westbound when it collided with a sedan traveling in the opposite direction.

The cause of Wood’s death was blunt force trauma and torso trauma, as well as the unidentified 60-year-old man driving the Jeep. The driver of the sedan was also killed, officials said. The driver of the sedan swerved into the highway’s westbound lanes, striking a white Jeep Gladiator. The head-on crash caused a silver Toyota Camry behind the Jeep to be involved in a minor sideswipe, the California Highway Patrol said in a statement to FOX San Francisco.

A former Obama campaign worker and her wife were killed in a horrific car wreck in Southern California last week.

Peggy Moore, 60, and Hope Wood, 48, were passengers in a Jeep pickup truck that collided Friday with a Chrysler sedan on Highway 76, near Fallbrook, killing them, NBC Bay Area reported.

The 60-year-old man behind the wheel of the Jeep was also killed, as was the driver of the Chrysler, the outlet said.

A third passenger in the Jeep survived the wreck.

Moore was the only crash victim named by the medical examiner, but tributes online quickly revealed that both wives had been killed.
