Yesterday we brought you this very bizarre and disturbing story of a Pastor who stood up, preached an entire sermon, joked about how handsome and charming he was, and then at the very end casually mentions his wife is dead by suicide gunshot to the head.
Yes, it’s that strange.
Here’s the report and I’ll reprint it at the bottom of this article in case you missed it:
Pastor Preaches Entire Sermon Then Casually Mentions His Wife Is Dead By Gunshot To The Head
In that report yesterday I said two things....
First, I said this just feels really wrong. Something is "off". This is not a normal way to handle this.
Of course I wasn't the only one saying that, that has been a near universal reaction to watching these clips.
But then I also said something else.
I followed that up by saying everyone responds to tragedy and shock and grief differently and I said maybe this guy is just in a tragedy-induced haze and he's responding strangely. That would not be completely unusual.
Ok, with that background I now bring you the shocking new update as the 911 call has now been released and it does seem to indicate a troubling suicide.
Again, I will couch this with the same caution I gave you yesterday.
We still don't know all the details here.
So I'm just giving you what I have. It's likely even more information will continue to come out.
But here's the latest, from Collin Rugg:
JUST IN: Law enforcement release heartbreaking 911 call of Mica Miller making sure her location could be found for her family before she tragically took her own life.

JUST IN: Law enforcement release heartbreaking 911 call of Mica Miller making sure her location could be found for her family before she tragically took her own life.
"I'm about to k*ll myself and I just want my family to know where to find me."
Mica had just filed for divorce from her husband Pastor John-Paul Miller who is accused of abusing her.
ADVERTISEMENTPolice have also released surveillance footage of Mica purchasing a gun before she took her life in North Carolina.
Mica's family is demanding further answers as they claim Mica was abused and harassed by Pastor Miller.
Here is the order of events laid out by the Robeson County Sheriff's Office:
11:00 am: Miller seen on her ring camera at her house in Myrtle Beach, SC.
11:38 am: Miller seen leaving the residence.
12:12 pm: Miller seen at pawn show in Myrtle Beach, SC.
12:34 pm: Miller seen leaving the pawn shop after purchasing a gun.
1:27 pm: Miller’s black Honda Accord is observed arriving at 41 Grocery and Grill.
ADVERTISEMENT2:54 pm: Miller called Robeson County from Lumber River State Park.
Devastating.
One more piece of information before I wrap this up.
According to Yahoo News, the family of Mica is still pushing back on this saying there is no way she would ever take her own life:
The New York Post wrote about the death, which is being investigated by the Robeson (North Carolina) County Sheriff’s Office and has been the topic of social media posts from church and non-church members, many using #justiceforMica.
There were two memorials held for Mica Miller on May 5, one at Solid Rock Church and another along the beach in North Myrtle Beach led by Mica Miller’s family.Chief Deputy Damien McLean with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Friday that the case is under investigation, adding that anytime there is a death the department does an investigation. He would not provide information about the case.
Her death was announced to the church congregation by her husband during a sermon on April 28 - a day after Mica Miller was found dead. Miller told the church her death was self-induced and details of her memorial service on May 5, 2024.
The video of that sermon has since been deleted from YouTube and the church’s website.
Mica Miller’s family have posted on social media regarding her death, alluding to false information and abuse that Mica had suffered. It is unclear what the abuse was. Mica Miller too posted on her Facebook about abuse and leaving a dangerous situation with the hashtag, “abuseawareness.”
Mica Miller’s mother posted on the Facebook page Voices in the Wilderness that her daughter had “a no contact order and a divorce was filed just days before this tragedy.”
Husband says wife was battling mental illness
John-Paul Miller confirmed that his wife had filed for divorce. He was notified by police of his wife’s death late April 27.
He was told that Mica had purchased a gun and drove two hours to Lumber River State Park in Lumberton, North Carolina, where she was found in her vehicle by a kayaker, Miller said May 3, 2024.
ADVERTISEMENTMiller described his wife’s battle with mental illness, adding that this wasn’t the first time she tried to take her own life. Mica Miller has been open about her mental health struggles, posting videos about it on social media and offering testimonies at her church.
She had been in the hospital in February, one of many times Mica had been placed there during their marriage, Miller said.
“That was just our life,” Miller said.
Miller described his wife as caring with a great love for the church. “She did everything,” Miller said.
Mica Miller, who would sit in the front row, was the leader for worship, youth and women’s ministry as well as operating as her husband’s personal assistant and taking care of other problems that people may have, Miller said.
Miller said he is glad that the sheriff’s department is investigating his wife’s death.
“I want them to find out every detail,” Miller said. “I want to know everything, every detail.”
Family has seen problems before
This isn’t the first time the Miller family has been placed in the national media spotlight.
In 2014, John-Paul Miller’s father, Reginald Wayne Miller, who founded the Cathedral Bible College, pleaded guilty in federal court to felony charges related to his treatment of international students who came to the Myrtle Beach college to earn degrees in theology, ministry and other Christian studies.
The senior Miller also was embroiled in controversy over allegations of sexual improprieties that forced him to move his ministry from Florence to Myrtle Beach.
Miller once led one of South Carolina’s largest charismatic churches and was a leading spokesman for the movement, which emphasizes speaking in tongues, prophecy and faith healing.
In case you missed my original report from yesterday, I will post it directly below:
Pastor Preaches Entire Sermon Then Casually Mentions His Wife Is Dead By Gunshot To The Head
Yesterday we brought you the incredible miracle story of what happened in a church recently in PA when a man suddenly walked to the Pastor and pulled a gun.
Incredible story.
Miracle ending.
Details here:
Today I have another church story to bring you, but this one does not have such a happy ending.
In fact, something feels very, very wrong here.
I'd like to preface this at the beginning by saying that perhaps this Pastor was experiencing extreme grief and essentially suffering through a delusional period or "break" in personality.
It's very possible.
I'm not here to judge.
I just know this looks and feels very strange.
Let me bring you up to speed.....
Let's start here with this report from Collin Rugg:
REPORT: Mica Miller, the pastor’s wife who was found dead in a park, told her sister that if she was found with a bullet in her head, "it was JP."

REPORT: Mica Miller, the pastor’s wife who was found dead in a park, told her sister that if she was found with a bullet in her head, "it was JP."
Pastor John-Paul Miller met Mica when she was just 14-years old and he was in his late 20s.
Despite the medical examiner now saying that Mica's death was consistent with a su*cide, her sister appears to be blaming Miller for her death.
"Mica stated to me on many occasions, 'If I end up with a bullet in my head, it was JP.'"
According to an affidavit filed in March by Sierra Francis (sister) and Nathaniel Francis, Mica had her tires slashed and someone had installed a GPS tracking device on her car.
On Monday, Robeson County Medical Examiner Dr. Richard Johnson says the gunshot wound is consistent with a su*cide.
He added that she was not shot in the back of the head like some had claimed.
And then this:
Hours after his wife Mica apparently committed suicide, pastor John-Paul Miller didn't tell his congregation, but instead preached the sunday sermon, yucking it up, cracking jokes and calling himself charming and handsome.

Hours after his wife Mica apparently committed suicide, pastor John-Paul Miller didn't tell his congregation, but instead preached the sunday sermon, yucking it up, cracking jokes and calling himself charming and handsome.
Then at the very end, he springs it on them in less than a minute, saying she was mentally ill and asking them not to talk about it, but to instead keep giving to the church.
Mica's family has accused the pastor of grooming and abusing her, accusations which Mica herself hinted at, and suggest the fact that she just filed for divorce from him days before is very suspicious.
Ok, so allow me to recap....and then let's watch the video together.
So this guy gets up on stage, acts like nothing is wrong, preaches a whole sermon (which, as far as I can tell based on the short clip includes many teachings that are straight up NOT Biblical, but that's another issue), jokes about how charming and handsome he is, and then abruptly and awkwardly announces at the end that his wife is dead by suicide, gunshot to the head.
Does that strike anyone else as odd?
Again, perhaps he is perfectly innocent and everyone processes through grief and shock differently.
But this has my Spidey Sense tingling....
Let's all watch it together again here:

Many are noting he met her when she was 14 in his Youth Group -- which we have not been able to independently verify:
Follow up is that John Paul Miller was married previously, but then he divorced his wife after allegedly being caught having an affair with Mica, whom he later married in later 2017.
Mica was 14 years old and attending youth group when she first met Miller, who is nearly 15…

Others say they knew Mica and she would never commit suicide:
Mica is a close friend of mine, she 100% would not have commited suicide. she was excited to start a new life no longer living in fear of him & was finally on her way out
