Biden Admin Create New Rule Allowing Illegal Immigrants Eligible For ObamaCare

The Biden administration created a new rule on Friday that will now allow illegal immigrants to receive health care through ObamaCare.

In a White House statement, it was revealed the new rule will remove a prohibition on illegal immigrants under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals from accessing healthcare through ObamaCare.

The new rule is set to go into effect on November 1st, and it’s expected over 100,000 illegal immigrants will now be able to access ObamaCare through the new rule.

In a press release the White House stated “Today’s rule also reinforces the President’s enduring commitment to DACA recipients and Dreamers, who contribute daily to the strength and vitality of our communities and our country,”

Here’s what Just The News reported:

The Biden administration published a new rule Friday that will allow tens of thousands of illegal immigrants to receive health care through ObamaCare.

The new rule, according to a White House statement, removes a prohibition on illegal immigrants protected from deportation under the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program from accessing healthcare through the Affordable Care Act.

The rule will go into effect as soon as November 1, and the administration estimates that 100,000 uninsured illegal immigrants will be able to access taxpayer-funded health insurance under the rule. The immigrants will be able to apply for coverage through Healthcare.org and state-based marketplaces.

Referring to illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as minors as “Dreamers,” President Joe Biden said the rule will grant them a pathway to citizenship.

Per The Washington Times:

The administration estimates it will spend about $300 million a year for the Dreamers’ coverage.
The move unwinds a wall erected by President Obama when he created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals in 2012. Wary of asking taxpayers to pay for illegal immigrants’ benefits, he made a policy decision to exclude DACA recipients.

Mr. Biden, who was vice president at the time, now treats that decision as a mistake and says DACA migrants deserve the same right to government health-care money as anyone else.

“Dreamers are our loved ones, our nurses, teachers and small business owners. And they deserve the promise of health care just like all of us,” the president said.

The administration figures that 100,000 DACA recipients will take advantage of the free money.

There are roughly 600,000 people enrolled in the DACA program, but many of them already have insurance coverage through their jobs, some qualify for Medicaid under states that have expanded coverage to illegal immigrants, and others will decline to sign up.
