President Trump’s VP shortlist just got a little shorter after one of the candidates on that list committed a fatal PR blunder this month.
Sources close to the Trump campaign told the media that South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem now has ‘no shot’ at becoming President Trump’s 2024 Vice Presidential pick—no pun intended.
The Governor revealed how she had personally shot and killed her dog in a disturbing admission featured in her upcoming book.
Her out-of-touch admission was so startling and inexplicable that it has prompted some to speculate if she did it on purpose to ensure she wouldn’t be picked as VP.
I haven’t seen her make a single post on social media in the last several days without the entire comments section being filled with ‘justice for Cricket’ memes and barbs. Take a look:
Trump campaign officials tell the media that Kristi Noem completely eliminated her already remote chance of being chosen as his VP, by running around boasting of shooting a puppy in the head that she "hated." https://t.co/WW5Jv2wOuy

The New York Post spoke with Trump campaign insiders, who revealed:
One ally of the presumptive Republican nominee said Trump’s team was “bewildered” to hear of Noem’s account in her tome “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward.”
“She was already unlikely to be picked as VP, but had a shot,” the person said of Noem, who has been widely projected to be on Trump’s shortlist. “After this, it’s just impossible.”
As you can tell by the reactions from Americans across the political spectrum, it isn’t very hard to see why she is no longer a viable VP candidate:
Good News Story of the Day: Kristi Noem manages to unify the left and right, the woke and Q-anon, the trans and homophobes unanimously around the proposition that she is a monster.

Kristi Noem will never live down her puppy shooting incident. Every time she posts on any form of social media, people from across the political spectrum are just relentlessly piling on.
That's a good thing. At least as a country we can agree shooting your own puppy is bad.

Kristi Noem on putting down 3 of her family’s horses at the same time:
“We lost 3, but these weren’t just horses. These were our family members. These horses were old. They were in their late, late 20’s.“
Strange how all 3 of them had to be put down at the same time. pic.twitter.com/eZlVS54xMI

The Guardian provided Noem’s defense:
On the page, Noem defends her actions as indicative of the kinds of unpleasant things people have to do on farms and in politics, too.
Since the story became public, she has doubled down, saying her family recently put down three horses and claiming she was legally obliged to kill Cricket because she killed a neighbour’s chickens.
