American Idol Singer And Grammy Winner Found Deat At 47


Former American Idol contestant and Grammy-winning singer Mandisa has died at the age of 47.

A representative of Mandisa stated the award-winning gospel singer was found dead inside her home on Thursday.

She was found dead inside her home in Nashville, Tennessee.

The representative did not give a cause of death and stated, “At this time, we do not know the cause of death or any further details.”

NBC News had more details to report:

Grammy-winning singer Mandisa, who rose to fame on season five of “American Idol,” has died, her representative said Friday. She was 47.

“We can confirm that yesterday Mandisa was found in her home deceased,” her representative said in a statement to NBC News. “At this time we do not know the cause of death or any further details.”

“We ask for your prayers for her family and close knit circle of friends during this incredibly difficult time,” the statement concluded.

She was found dead in her Nashville home, according to The Tennessean.

A post on the artist’s Facebook page said early Friday: “Mandisa was a voice of encouragement and truth to people facing life’s challenges all around the world. She wrote this song for a dear friend who had passed in 2017.”

Mandisa, a gospel singer who kicked off her singing career as a contestant on “American Idol,” has died. She was 47.

Mandisa’s father, John Hundley, confirmed her passing to Fox News Digital, saying that her death was a total shock.

At this time, it’s unclear what caused the singer’s death.

Mandisa competed on season five of “American Idol,” which aired in 2006. She made it to the top nine in the music competition show, and a year later, she released her first full-length album, titled “True Beauty.”
