This is probably the strangest story you will read all day, so here we go!
36-year-old Cameron Clifford is just a normal dentist with a normal family, living in Oklahoma. In October of last year, he purchased a female octopus for his son’s 9th birthday.
According to Cameron, his son has wanted a pet octopus since he was just three years old.
Cameron’s son was ecstatic when his father brought home the octopus named Terrance and immediately took to caring for his new companion.
It was then that the family experienced the unexpected—it turns out Terrance was pregnant with a litter of babies.
Terrance gave birth to 50 little octopus babies, and the family says their life has not been the same since.
Thousands of dollars were spent on tanks and other supplies to house and care for the newly hatched octopus babies. However, it hasn’t been all doom and gloom.
Cameron Clifford’s nine-year-old Son Cal now has a TikTok channel featuring the lively marine animals with over 400,000 followers and millions of views per month. Here’s more on the story:

Daily Mail provided this statement from 36-year-old Cameron Clifford:
”It’s a lot of work,’ he said. ‘A lot of work and emotion and money and time.’
I don’t know that we’ve been fully prepared for any of these challenges, but the hope is to re-home as many as we can.
And those that we can’t, we will figure out a way to keep them alive and be responsible. It’s not a real concrete plan, but we’re doing pretty good so far.”
One social media user jokingly remarked: “Turns out Oklahoma is a great place to raise kids. Even if you’re an Octopus.”
