UPDATE: Next Steps In Growing Conflict Revealed By Biden And Israel

For once, Joe Biden and I agree—walk back the WWIII escalation.

Joe Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the U.S. would not be supporting or participating in a counter-strike against Iran and reportedly told Netanyahu  “You got a win, take the win.”

Sources say that U.S. forces and coalition allies were able to shoot down 99% of the drones and missiles launched by Iran on Saturday night.

Iran launched the counter-attack on Israel after Israel preemptively struck an Iranian embassy in Syria.

The latest reports indicate that Israel is planning a military response against Iran sometime within the next 24-48 hours.

Here are the latest updates on the current, escalating conflict in the Middle East:

Axios confirmed:

The official said that when Biden told Netanyahu that the U.S. will not participate in any offensive operations against Iran and will not support such operations, Netanyahu said he understood.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin spoke on Saturday with his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant and asked that Israel notify the U.S. ahead of any response against Iran, a senior Israeli official said.

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, announced on Sunday:

“I sent a letter to the UN Secretary-General before his briefing in the Security Council today at 4pm EST. I made it clear that Iran MUST BE STOPPED!

The Regime poses a serious threat to international peace and security as evidenced by yesterday’s attack on Israel with over 300 drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles.

Iran is closer than ever to nuclear weapons. Just imagine what would happen if these drones or missiles carried nuclear warheads. Enough is enough.”

CNN provided this update:

As its war cabinet was meeting, minister Benny Gantz said Israel would “exact a price from Iran in a way and time that suits us.”
