Fetterman Has Stroke, Wakes Up a Republican: ‘Squatters Have No Rights’

Senator John Fetterman, who was once considered a far-left progressive, has, in the last year, been leaning more and more to the right on issues as he recovers from his stroke that occurred in 2022.

Fetterman’s latest Conservative take is that ‘squatters have no rights.’

In recent months, Democrat-controlled cities have implemented policies that give rights to people who illegally occupy a home for over 30 days, but Senator Fetterman disagrees with some of his Democrat colleagues and has called squatter rights legislation essentially breaking the law.

Fetterman, in an interview with The New York Post, stated, “It’s wild that if you go away on a long trip, for 30 days, and someone breaks into your home and suddenly they have rights.”

Per The New York Post:

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman ripped the idea of “squatter’s rights” during an exclusive interview with The Post this week.

“Squatters have no rights,” Fetterman said, adding that the issue was one he often dealt with when he was mayor of working-class Braddock, Pa. “How can you even pretend that this is anything other than you’re just breaking the law?”

“I am not woke,” he warned.

“We always tried to push back against that,” he said, adding that he had been horrified by what he’s read in The Post’s extensive coverage of the squatting issue.

“It’s wild, that if you go away on a long trip, for 30 days, and someone breaks into your home and suddenly they have rights,” he sad. “This is crazy. Like if somebody stole your car, and then they held it for 30 days, then somehow you now have some rights?”

Fox News had these details to report:

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., sounded off on squatters during a recent interview, questioning how they had a right to occupy another person’s home as squatting continues to take a toll on homeowners across the U.S.

During an interview with the New York Post, published on Saturday, Fetterman said squatters have “no rights.”

“Squatters have no rights,” Fetterman said. “How can you even pretend that this is anything other than you’re just breaking the law?”

Fetterman also told the Post, “I am not woke.”
