MTG Calls For Americans To Repent After Lightning Strikes Statue of Liberty And Earthquake Rocks East Coast

In less than 48 hours, New York has faced some wacky weather.

On Thursday, the Statue of Liberty was struck with a bolt of lightning, and on Friday morning, an earthquake rattled New York and several other states in the surrounding area.

Just hours after the earthquake occurred, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene took to X and shared God is warning America to repent.

Greene stated, “God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent. Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come.”

The 4.8-magnitude earthquake that rattled the New York City area on Friday was no ordinary earthquake. According to MAGA acolyte Marjorie Taylor Greene, it was a warning from God.

The far-right congresswoman prophesied as much on Friday morning, tweeting to her one million followers on X that the seismic event was no simple act of plate tectonics but an omen of godly wrath. “God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent. Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come,” she dramatically wrote, referring both to the quake with an epicenter in northern New Jersey and to next Monday’s total solar eclipse.

“I pray that our country listens,” she said, adding the prayer hands emoji for effect.

An estimated 4.8 magnitude earthquake rattled the northeastern region Friday morning. If accurate, the quake — which had an epicenter about 30 miles west of Newark — would be the third-largest earthquake in recorded New Jersey history.
