According to multiple reports, approximately 70 U.S. military helicopters will conduct an exercise in Northeast Pennsylvania.
“Some 70 military helicopters will fly through Northeast Pennsylvania this weekend and early next week. That’s according to a public advisory Friday from the Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport (AVP),” Chief Nerd wrote, citing WVIA News.
“The choppers will depart from Rome, New York and continue on to Philadelphia throughout Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Exact flight times are not currently known. AVP says the flights are only an exercise and there’s no cause for alarm,” Chief Nerd added.

Lehigh Valley International Airport will be a staging area this weekend for about 70 Army helicopters.
Airport officials said there will be arrivals and departures between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday through Monday, according to a news release. The helicopters will be coming from Fort Drum, New York, for an exercise.
The helicopters — Apaches, Chinooks and Blackhawks — will then take off for Philadelphia.

The Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority on Thursday announced Lehigh Valley International Airport outside Allentown is serving as a staging area Saturday through Monday, April 6-8, for U.S. Army Boeing AH-64 Apache, Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk and Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopters.
“The public should not be concerned with the increased air traffic,” airport authority officials said in a news release.
Arrivals and departures are scheduled daily from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the area of Hangar 7 at the airport in Hanover Township, Lehigh County. Hangar 7 houses Lehigh Valley Aviation Services and is at 600 Hayden Circle, off Postal Road south of the airport’s runways, according to flyabe.com.
