LSU Head Coach Doubles Down: It’s Ok We Skipped The National Anthem Because We ALWAYS Skip It!

Wow, talk about digging your hole much deeper….

In case you missed it, we recently covered the story about the rematch between the Iowa women’s basketball team and LSU.

A big story involving the iconic Caitlyn Clark.

But still, not a story we would typically cover here except for the fact that one team (LSU) seems to have completely disrespected the National Anthem:

LSU Dominated by Iowa After Walking Off Court During National Anthem

It was bad enough when athletes kneeled at the National Anthem to signify they don’t like our Country….

But at least they showed up!

LSU has taken it to a whole other level by not even attending the Anthem!

So now that the dust settles, has a reasonable explanation surfaced?

Ummm, “no” to put it bluntly.

No, the LSU head coach has only dug in deeper offering this truly baffling explanation:

NEW: LSU coach Kim Mulkey says her team leaving the court for the National Anthem is just one big misunderstanding.

Before the Iowa vs LSU game, Iowa was seen standing for the National Anthem while LSU wasn’t even on the court.

Now, Mulkey is claiming that this is completely normal for her team.

“Honestly, I don’t even know when the anthem was played,” Mulkey said.

“We kind of have a routine when they’re on the floor and they come off at the 12-minute mark. I don’t know, we come in and we do our pregame stuff. I’m sorry, listen, that’s nothing intentionally done.”

Yikes.

So perhaps I am misunderstanding her, but it seems to me like the answer is: it’s ok that we skipped the National Anthem because we ALWAYS skip the National Anthem!  That’s our routine!  In fact, we don’t even know when it is being sung because we don’t care!

Wow….

REALLY bad take coach!

Here was our original report:

LSU Dominated by Iowa After Walking Off Court During National Anthem

March Madness is an exciting time of year, with basketball games played left and right.

The matchup between the Iowa Hawkeyes and LSU Tigers women’s teams, which is a rematch from the 2023 NCAA National Championship, was a highly anticipated game.

Unfortunately for LSU fans, the Hawkeyes were able to take control of the game early, shortly after the Lady Tigers walked off the court during the National Anthem.

Check out the stark difference between the two teams, the Hawkeyes stood united, holding hands, while the Tigers were nowhere to be found.

No. 3 LSU (reigning National Champs) lost the pivotal game to advance to the Final Four by a score of 94-87 to the No. 1 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes at MVP Arena in Albany.

Kim Mulkey, who is known for her hard-nosed coaching style and her eccentric game-day outfits, attempted to downplay the situation.

This is surprisingly not the first time the Lady Tigers have avoided the National Anthem.

Many have taken to X to voice their frustrations over the questionable statement by LSU:
