A Newark-bound United Airlines flight was diverted to New York Stewart International Airport on Friday after experiencing high winds and ‘extreme turbulence.’
“312 passengers onboard Newark-bound United Airlines Boeing 787 from Tel Aviv that diverted to Stewart Airport due to ‘extreme turbulence,’ 7 passengers taken to the hospital with minor injuries and 15 treated on site – according to New Windsor EMS,” News12 reporter Blaise Gomez wrote.

News 12 reports:
They say the United Airlines flight was making an approach to Newark from Tel Aviv when it experienced the high winds around 6:30 p.m.
About 320 people were on the flight, and seven people were transported to St. Luke’s Cornwall for observation, according to New Windsor EMS.
New Windsor EMS says 15 people were treated on site for conditions including motion sickness and other minor medical ailments.

The incident is the second United Airlines international flight this week to make an emergency landing.
United Airlines Boeing Makes Abrupt Landing Due To ‘Engine Issue’
A United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Paris was diverted to Denver Thursday evening due to an ‘engine issue,’ adding to the woes for the airline.
United Flight 990, using a Boeing 777-200, landed in Denver after the crew reported an issue with one engine.
The flight carrying 273 passengers and 12 crew members landed safely.
The incidents follow the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) saying it would increase oversight of the airline.
