Fani Wills Not Out Of The Woods Just Yet, Appeal Inbound!

I say don’t appeal the ruling, but President Trump has a right to hit back at Fani Willis.

According to new reports, President Trump and other co-defendants in the Fulton County RICO case will try to appeal Judge McAfee’s ruling allowing Willis to stay on the case.

Of course, the appeal is entirely dependent on Judge McAffee and whether or not he will allow the appeal to be filed.

While I understand their sentiment, seeking an appeal is foolhardy. Fani Willis has utterly destroyed her public image and possibly her career.

My opinion is that the best thing the defense can do is to allow Willis to stay on the case. Sure, she won the right to stay on, but it was a completely pyrrhic victory—it cost her far too much.

Why not take advantage of her toothless and fangless position? Charlie Kirk reports:

“President Trump and several co-defendants are requesting to appeal Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee’s ruling against dismissing the case and disqualifying DA Fani Willis. The co-defendants include:

Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, Robert Cheeley, Michael Roman, David Shafer, Harrison Floyd, Cathleen Latham.

“The Court found that DA Willis’ actions had created an appearance of impropriety and an ‘odor of mendacity’ that lingers in this case.

[The defendants] believe that relevant case law requires dismissal of the case, or at the very least, the disqualification of the DA and her entire office under the facts that exist here.  The resignation of Mr. Wade is insufficient…” reads the motion.”

ABC News provided an excerpt of the petition to appeal:

“Whether District Attorney Willis and her Office are permitted to continue representing the State of Georgia in prosecuting the Defendants in this action is of the utmost importance to this case, and ensuring the appellate courts have the opportunity to weigh in on these matters pre-trial is paramount.”

Conservative influencer George remarked: “This is the start of the process to appeal the DUMBEST decision in Georgia history.”

USA Today provided some examples of what I am talking about. Willis has been neutralized and will now face a bevy of legal and career troubles:

While Willis can still prosecute the case following the ruling, she may well face challenges to her law license at the State Bar of Georgia – even if experts don’t expect those challenges to succeed based on existing evidence.

She could also have to deal with other state regulators. Even before the decision, a conservative group asked the State Bar to open disciplinary proceedings against Willis and Wade.
