U.K. Embassy Releases Emergency Post Responding To Rumors King Charles Is Dead

Buckingham Palace has released a statement addressing the rumors that King Charles is dead.

In the statement, Buckingham Palace officials clarified that King Charles isn’t dead.

The statement read, “We are happy to confirm that The King is continuing with official and private business.”

Initial rumors claiming Charles was dead stemmed from Russian media outlets, and as a response, the U.K. embassy in Moscow released an emergency post on X countering Russian media’s claims.

Buckingham Palace was forced to deny reports that King Charles III died on Monday after Russian media ran wild with reports based on a dubious-looking “announcement.”

The statement, dated March 18 and featuring the seal of the British monarch’s official London residence, said: “The following announcement is made by royal communications. The King passed away unexpectedly yesterday afternoon.”

The palace issued a statement to the Russian state-run TASS news agency denying the report.

“We are happy to confirm that The King is continuing with official and private business,” it read.

Per Daily Mail:

The British embassy in Moscow was today forced to give an official statement confirming King Charles III is still alive after Russian media claimed he had died.

A host of Russian news sites and their associated social media accounts reported earlier today that the King had died aged 75 as a result of cancer complications, citing unnamed ‘media’ sources in an inexplicable stream of posts.

It came as an image of a clearly fake statement from ‘Buckingham Palace’ reporting Charles’ ‘unexpected death’ was circulated on social media.

‘King Charles III of Great Britain has died at the age of 75, according to media reports,’ Russian newswire Sputnik reported.
