Now in his 90s, country music legend Willie Nelson is still going strong.
The title track from his 75th solo studio album will soon be released, and it’s a cover of a Rodney Crowell song that is especially timely given the open borders policies of the Biden administration.
As Breitbart reported:
“The Border” is part of Willie Nelson’s new album of the same name that the singer said will be released on May 31.
In his rendition of Crowell’s song, Nelson takes the perspective of an officer with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. “There’s a price on the head of every border patrol,” he sings. “Where the smugglers do business, that’s where I make a stand.”
Later, he sings: “I come home to Maria in a bulletproof vest, with the weight of the whole wide world bearing down on my chest.”
The news sparked some chatter on social media:
Willie Nelson still shows no signs of retiring. The Texas singer-songwriter, who will celebrate his 91st birthday April 29, announced today that he will be releasing his new album, "The Border," on May 31. https://t.co/53kOviwg31

Of course, some people pointed out the fact that Nelson publicly endorsed Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 election.

As Forbes reported four years ago:
Texas-born and beloved country superstar Willie Nelson will play a Monday virtual fundraiser for presidential nominee Joe Biden with Texas as a hotly contended state in the race via recent polls.
Perhaps he’s had a change of heart after seeing millions of migrants illegally cross the border into the United States under Biden’s watch.
If you’d like to hear the song, here’s a video of Nelson’s new tune in its entirety:
