Rep. Nancy Mace Give Fiery Response When Pressed About Supporting President Trump [WATCH HERE]

South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace recently went on ABC News, where host George Stephanopoulos interviewed her.

During the interview, George repeatedly shamed Rep. Mace for supporting President Trump after he was allegedly found to be liable for rape.

However, Nancy Mace was quick to call out that President Trump was NOT liable for rape; he was found liable for sexual abuse and defamation.

The jury answered that President Trump did not rape Jean E. Carroll.

The folks at Fox News share more on the story:

“The problem with Stephanopoulos’ question of Nancy Mace was that Stephanopoulos said 10 times, on 10 separate occasions, Donald Trump was found ‘liable for rape’ in the E. Jean Carroll case. He specifically said that the jury found Trump ‘liable for rape’ – now that’s important. In fact, the jury specifically found Trump not liable for rape,” York told Fox News Digital.

“Now, it did find him liable for ‘sexual abuse,’ so this is not an exoneration,” York, who has written extensively about the E. Jean Carroll case, continued. “But, it’s just a fact that the court asked the jury, ‘Do you think Miss Carroll proved by preponderance of the evidence that Donald Trump raped her?’ And they said, ‘No.’”

Indeed, the federal jury in New York decided that Trump was not liable for rape but was liable for sexual abuse and defamation in 2023. Despite this, York noted that Stephanopoulos said “over and over and over again that Trump was liable for rape,” which is not accurate.

York admitted “one thing that complicates the matter” is that the judge “later tried to spin the jury’s decision.”

“He argued that the jury had, quote, ‘implicitly’ found that Trump was liable for rape. That the evidence implies that the jury found Trump liable for rape. Remember, they checked the ‘no’ box when asked about rape,” York said.

“If you read the judge’s decision carefully, you’ll see that the judge is deducing that this is what the jury must have thought,” he said. “But the fact is, the jury was asked a question. Did Miss Carroll prove that Trump raped her, and they said, ‘No.’”

Many were quick to point out George Stephanopoulos’s involvement with Bill Clinton and his attempts to cover up Bill’s wrongdoings.

Megyn Kelly does a fantastic job at breaking it down.

Mace, who was raped when she was 16 years old, made the comments after the“This Week” host asked the congresswoman to square her recent endorsement of Trump with the civil trial that found Trump liable for sexually assaulting writer E. Jean Carroll.

In response, Mace repeatedly accused Stephanopoulos of attempting to “shame” her as a victim of rape for her political choices, which Stephanopoulos denied. When pressed, Mace said Trump was not judged in a criminal court.

“As a rape victim who’s been shamed for years now because of her rape, you’re trying to shame me again,” Mace said to Stephanopoulos. Mace shared an emotional account of her experience as a rape victim during a debate on abortion in South Carolina’s legislature before being elected to the House in 2021.

Asked for comment, a spokesperson for Mace referred The Washington Post to the congresswoman’s statements made during the interview and on social media, where she continued to criticize Stephanopoulos after the interview.

An ABC News spokesperson said in a statement that “George did his job by asking meaningful questions that are relevant to our viewers.”

Mace also accused Carroll of harming other victims of rape with her comments on the judgment she was awarded in the case against Trump. Carroll had joked about going shopping and buying a penthouse with the judgment money in an interview with MSNBC.

Mace is correct in saying that Caroll harmed actual rape victims.

Through Jean E. Carroll’s reactions, we can see that she was more concerned with getting paid for this lawsuit than with achieving justice.
