UPDATE: The Jury Verdict Is IN For ‘Rust” Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed

The jury has reached a verdict in the Hannah Gutierrez-Reed case.

Gutierrez-Reed was the armorer for the film set of the movie “Rust” featuring Alec Baldwin.

WLTR previously reported that cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was tragically killed by gunfire on the set after Alec Baldwin was handed a loaded firearm.

Gutierrez-Reed was in charge of firearm safety for the set of the film and was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter charges. If given the maximum sentence Gutierrez-Reed faces 18 months in prison.

This verdict will likely hurt Alec Baldwin at his trial, though Baldwin has entered a plea of not guilty to the court. Citizen Free Press reports:

“She was acquitted of allegedly transferring a “small bag of cocaine” to someone after a police interview. She faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.” Here’s more on the story:

Breitbart confirmed:

The jury convicted Reed on Wednesday after just three hours of deliberation following two weeks of testimony about the unsafe conditions on the set of Rust, which culminated in the fatal moment when actor Alec Baldwin accidentally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins with a gun he had been told was “cold.”

Talk TV shared journalist Kinsey Schofield’s remarks about the Gutierrez-Reed case: “She rarely showed emotion, she had an: ‘I’d rather be anywhere else’ attitude! She was not qualified.”

NTD News had more:

However, in a surprising split verdict, a 12-member jury in Santa Fe declined to convict her on evidence-tampering charges, leaving some aspects of the case unresolved.

Ms. Gutierrez Reed was charged with evidence tampering in 2023, after investigators accused her of passing off a bag of cocaine on the day of the shooting.
