Trump’s Shortlist for VP

During a Fox News town hall broadcast, President Donald Trump mentioned a few Republicans and a former Democratic lawmaker on his shortlist for Vice President.

During the town hall meeting, Laura Ingraham asked Trump on his thoughts for six possible choices for his running mate.

Politico has more information on the names on the list and more about the interview:

During a Fox News town hall event, host Laura Ingraham asked Trump about six possible choices for his running mate: DeSantis, Scott, biotech entrepreneur and former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and Gabbard.

“Are they all on your shortlist?” she asked.

“They are,” Trump said, before adding: “Honestly all of those people are good. They’re all good, they’re all solid.”

While President Trump believes each of the six names on the list are all fantastic, he did single out one in particular.

Yahoo News has more on President Trump discussing his list:

He also singled out Scott, pointing out the senator in the audience, saying, “A lot of people are talking about that gentleman right over there.”

“He has been much better for me than he was for himself,” he said of his former competitor, who endorsed Trump and repeatedly kissed the ringafter dropping out of the race in November.

Scott has campaigned heavily for the GOP front-runner ahead of South Carolina’s Feb. 24 primary, where Trump faces off against the state’s former governor, Nikki Haley.

Several other names have been thrown around as potential Trump running mates, including Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), whom he has reportedly praised as a possible choice.

Many people have taken to X to voice their opinions over the names on the list:
