“People were mentioning me [as a potential vice president]. I am not doing that,” he confirmed.

The New York Post originally reported on this latest update:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Wednesday he would not consider being Donald Trump’s running mate one day after the former president confirmed the former 2024 rival was on his “short list” — with DeSantis revealing that he was looking at other prospects, including another White House bid in four years.

“People were mentioning me [as a potential vice president]. I am not doing that,” DeSantis told delegates during a thank you call, audio of which was shared exclusively with The Post.

The 45-year-old also went in-depth about who he thinks Trump could and should choose as his No. 2.

“I know some people are really actively seeking it. It seems to me, just from watching kind of the body language and stuff, that you have a handful of folks who seem to be auditioning for it,” he said.

What do you think?

Is this a wise move on the part of DeSantis?

The Hill reported on the list of potential candidates Trump has confirmed, so far:

Former President Trump confirmed a list of names floated to be on his vice presidential shortlist Tuesday during a town hall event in Greenville, S.C.

Trump joined Fox News Channel’s Laura Ingraham to discuss the Palmetto State’s upcoming primary — which takes place Saturday. Ingraham asked the former president if the rumored names were in fact on his list of potential running mates.

The list includes three former GOP candidates, Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R). He also confirmed Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who served in Congress as a Democrat but has since shifted to more conservative views, are in the running.

Trump confirmed “they are” on his shortlist but did not provide a timeline for when he will announce his vice presidential pick. He said, “all of those people are good. They’re all solid.”

Do you like any of these picks?

Or do you think Trump will choose someone else entirely?..
