FACT CHECK: Did President Trump Encourage Russia To Attack NATO Allies?

In our daily report of Democrats grossly taking President Trump’s words out of context:

There has been growing backlash from the left over a comment that President Trump said during a speech.

During the speech, President Trump said that the United States will not protect NATO allies that do not pay. He will not protect them.

This is about a time during his Presidency when he threatened to stop funding NATO unless other countries pay up.

And they did!

However, Democrats have entirely taken his comments out of context.

Now watch the meltdown that Joe Biden had over this:

Hillary Clinton shares her ‘bold’ prediction on what will happen when President Trump is back in the White House.

Fox News shares more on that:

Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton warned this weekend that former President Trump will try to withdraw the U.S. from NATO if he wins re-election in November.

Clinton made the claim during remarks at the Munich Security Conference in Germany, telling U.S. allies that they should take Trump’s claims to heart after the former president warned NATO countries to contribute their fair share.

“We have a long struggle ahead of us, and the obvious point to make about Donald Trump is take him literally and seriously,” she said. “He means what he says. People did not take him literally and seriously in 2016. Now he is telling us what he intends to do, and people who try to wish it away, brush it away, are living in an alternative reality.”

“He will do everything he can to become an absolute authoritarian leader if given the opportunity to do so. And he will pull us out of NATO even though the Congress passed a resolution saying that he couldn’t without congressional support, because he will just not fund our obligations,” she said.

Now Kamala Harris is now saying that President Trump is “bowing down” to a “Russian dictator.”

Anyone else feel like we’re back in 2016 again?

The Associated Press News shares President Trump’s defense on his comments:

Former President Donald Trump again said Wednesday that if he returns to the White House, he would not defend NATO members that don’t meet defense spending targets, days after he set off alarms in Europe by suggesting he would tell Russia to attack NATO allies he considered delinquent.

Speaking at a campaign rally in South Carolina, he retold the story of his alleged conversation with the head of a NATO member country that had not met its obligations. This time, though, he left out the line that drew the most outrage — encouraging Russia “to do whatever the hell they want.”

“Look, if they’re not going to pay, we’re not going to protect. OK?” he said Wednesday.

Trump hewed closer than usual to his prepared remarks after a freewheeling event days earlier in which he also drew backlash for mocking his Republican rival Nikki Haley’s husband for being missing from the campaign trail. He also revised his comments about Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom he has often praised as tough and previously suggested treated him like the “apple of his eye.”

Instead, Trump cited an interview Putin gave Wednesday to Russian state television in which he said he would prefer Biden as president.

“Putin is not a fan of mine,” Trump said.

The Associated Press News, most other mainstream news sources, are spinning the story as if President Trump is a Russia sympathizer that wants Putin to take over all of Europe.

It is absolutely insane the lengths that Democrats will go through to slander President Trump.

They are lucky he won’t sue!
