Critics of the so-called “Squad” of radical leftist lawmakers in the House of Representatives have had plenty to denounce over the past several years … but one member of the group just upped the ante even further.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (R-MI), the only Palestinian-American member of Congress, was the only legislator who did not vote in favor of a resolution to condemn the horrific sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas terrorists.
The resolution was introduced by a Democrat and got unanimous support from everyone else who voted, but all Tlaib could muster was a “present” vote.
According to Fox News:
The resolution, introduced by Rep. Lois Frankel, D-Fla., and endorsed by 200 co-sponsors from both sides of the aisle, passed in a vote of 418 to 0.
Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., voted “present.”
“Our bipartisan resolution says it loud and clear: rape and sexual violence are crimes against humanity and should never be used or accepted as weapons of war,” said Rep. Frankel.
The resolution “condemns all rape and forms of sexual violence as weapons of war, including those acts committed by Hamas terrorists” and calls on “all nations to criminalize rape and sexual assault, and hold accountable all perpetrators of sexual violence, including state and non-state armed groups.”
ADVERTISEMENT“There are some subjects that are so difficult to talk about, but it is our responsibility to do so,” Rep. Frankel said from the House floor Wednesday.
Her apparent callousness toward victims of sexual violence sparked widespread backlash on social media.
The only sitting congressperson to not support the resolution to condemn Hamas' sexual crimes was Rashida Tlaib.

This should be a leading headline on every media channel: a US sitting congressperson refused to condemn rape.

Rashida Tlaib @RepRashida is the ONLY member of Congress who refuses to condemn Hamas’ rape. What an absolute sicko.

So what was her excuse? Here’s what the Daily Wire reported:
In House floor remarks, Tlaib said the resolution “rightfully denounces any sexual violence by Hamas,” but she claimed to be “disturbed” by how it lacks similar language for how Israeli forces allegedly treat Palestinians.
“We all have a responsibility to denounce sexual violence in all forms, regardless of who is responsible. War crimes cannot justify more war crimes,” she added in a post to X.
Of course, there’s no compelling evidence that Israeli troops have engaged in the sick behavior widely chronicled at the hands of bloodthirsty Hamas terrorists. But this isn’t Tlaib’s first flirtation with defending the anti-Israel militant group.
She was censured last year for using a loaded slogan widely repeated by Palestinian extremists. Here’s a look at that story:
