There’s been plenty of speculation in recent weeks about whether pop star Taylor Swift will endorse Joe Biden again this year, potentially breathing some life into the octogenarian’s lackluster re-election campaign.
Now that her boyfriend’s NFL team has won a second straight Super Bowl, she might be planning a visit to the White House.
According to Breitbart:
Asked at Monday’s press briefing if the pop star could come along as a “plus one” when the team visits the White House to celebrate its second Super Bowl title in as many seasons, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded, “That’s going to be up to the Chiefs, and obviously their decision to figure out who’s going to come with them.”
“I can’t speak to attendance and who will be here,” Jean-Pierre added.
Swift is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and celebrated on the field after his team beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime on Sunday in Las Vegas. She has been the subject of intense media coverage throughout the season, and even sparked anger among some conservatives who spread baseless claims that Swift is part of an elaborate plot to help Democrats win the November election because she could ultimately endorse President Joe Biden’s reelection bid.
Swift’s potential White House visit and possible Biden endorsement have been the topic of some social media discussion:
Unless Taylor Swift’s fans are going to block the Southern border, I don’t think her endorsement helps Biden very much. Talking Super Bowl, Swift and Biden with @HowardKurtz this AM: pic.twitter.com/WPqWfVWBul

GOOD USE OF RESOURCES? The State Department now posting about Taylor Swift on their official page as speculation grows that the 34-year-old singer might endorse Biden, and a poll claims that the candidate she endorses might win because somehow voters take voting advice from her. pic.twitter.com/F7qBY8tDkJ

Even the New York Times is getting in on the speculation:
It is tradition for the winning Super Bowl team to receive an invitation to the White House. If Taylor Swift joins the Chiefs on their visit, it would add fuel to several theories that she has the power to bolster President Biden’s re-election bid. https://t.co/0F2QWAf1Mi

But Donald Trump doesn’t think a Swift endorsement is coming.
BREAKING: @realDonaldTrump writes, "I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other Musical Artists.
"Joe Biden didn’t do anything for Taylor, and never will. There’s no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most… pic.twitter.com/n1B8UO6yZt

The Biden administration tried to score some political points out of the brewing controversy.
According to The Hill:
President Biden trolled MAGA Republicans on Sunday night, poking fun at conspiracy theories surrounding the NFL and pop sensation Taylor Swift after the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl.
“Just like we drew it up,” Biden wrote on X, formerly Twitter, alongside the “Dark Brandon” meme depicting the president with lasers shooting out of his eyes.
Here’s a clip of White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre fielding a question about Swift’s possible visit to the White House:
