For the second year in a row, Biden is sitting out the Super Bowl.
Earlier today, CBS announced that Biden declined their request to do a sit-down interview before the big game on the 11th.
JUST IN:@JoeBiden has DECLINED to do a pre Super Bowl interview.
This is the second time he has done this. It’s another sign that the White House doesn’t feel confident in Biden’s ability to handle an interview amid his rapid cognitive decline.

After the announcement was made, Trump quickly responded, offering to take Biden’s place!
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump said that “Crooked Joe Biden” made a “great decision” since “he can’t put two sentences together.”
Trump added he would be “HAPPY TO REPLACE HIM” and said it would be “RATINGS GOLD!”

What do you think?
Should CBS accept Trump’s offer?
Folks on X seem to think so:
@CBSNews make it happen. Ratings would go crazy

Up until Biden, the pre-Super Bowl interview had become something of an American tradition, with President Trump and Obama both giving interviews before the highly-viewed television event.
However, this will be the second year that Biden has turned it down.
Fox News commented:
President Biden is not participating in the traditional Super Bowl Sunday interview for the second consecutive year, according to reports.
CBS, who is airing this year’s Super Bowl on Feb. 11 between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs, had been in discussions with the White House in recent weeks, but Biden ultimately turned down the opportunity ahead of the year’s most watched television event.
It has long been tradition for the President of the United States to sit down for an interview with the news division of the network airing that year’s Super Bowl, but Biden will be skipping it yet again in 2024.
“We hope viewers enjoy watching what they tuned in for — the game,” a White House spokesman told Variety, who broke the news on Saturday.
The Palm Beach Post reported on Trump’s offer to replace Joe Biden for this American tradition:
President Joe Biden has declined a Super Bowl Sunday interview on CBS, but Donald Trump says he is game.
In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump taunted Biden saying the White House decision to decline the interview was a “great” one and mocked the president saying “he can’t put two sentences together.”
Trump then offered himself up as a replacement: “I WOULD BE HAPPY TO REPLACE HIM – would be “RATINGS GOLD!”
ADVERTISEMENTOn Saturday, CBS News said Biden had declined the network’s offer to be interviewed ahead of the NFL’s annual championship game.
