Soap Opera Star Passes Away At 58

David Gail, a soap opera star known for his roles in “Beverly Hills, 90210″ and “Port Charles,” a “General Hospital” spinoff, has passed away.

His cause of death hasn’t been publicly disclosed.

Gail’s sister, Katie Colmenares, confirmed his passing on Instagram.

“There’s barely been even a day in my life when you were not with me by my side,” she wrote.

“Always my wingman always my best friend ready to face anything and anyone w me the bears will never be the same but I will hold you so tight every day in my heart you gorgeous loving amazing fierce human being missing you every second of every day forever there will never be another,” she continued.

The New York Post reports:

Peter Ferriero, who hosts a “Beverly Hills, 90210” rewatch podcast with the show’s producers Charles Rosin and Larry Mollin, also paid tribute to Gail in a recent episode, causing fans to search for the news online.

“For those that have contacted me ‘Why is this not showing up on Google?’ Please stop,” Ferriero wrote in an Instagram Story on Saturday. “The family will report it at the appropriate time to them. I am sharing what I’ve been told to make sure his fans know what has happened. Thank you.”

Gail portrayed Dr. Joe Scanlon in “Port Charles” and Stuart Carson — Brenda Walsh’s (Shannen Doherty) one-time lived fiancé — on “Beverly Hills, 90210.”

During an April 2021 appearance on Ferriero’s podcast, Gail said about working on “90210,” “I have to say thank you to you guys for what you wrote, what you produced [and] all the ideas. That was something I’m really grateful for.”

Some X users questioned if the 58-year-old actor received the experimental COVID-19 shot.

TMZ added:

David appeared on 216 episodes of the “General Hospital” spin-off Port Charles where he played Dr. Joe Scanlon #2, according to IMDb.

A few of Gail’s other credits … “Matlock,” “Murder, She Wrote,” “The Round Table,” “Doogie Howser, M.D.,” “Perfect Opposites” and “Growing Pains.” He even starred alongside Bradley Cooper in the 2002 rom-com “Bending All The Rules.”
