The United States and British military have begun launching air strikes at the Iran-back Houthis rebels in Yemen.
Retaliation has been taken after continuous attacks on ships in the Red Sea by Houthis rebels.
Biden said that he authorized the airstrikes due to the attacks.
Fox News shares more on the story:
These Houthi attacks, Biden said, have endangered U.S. personnel and its allies and have threatened freedom of navigation.
“These targeted strikes are a clear message that the United States and our partners will not tolerate attacks on our personnel or allow hostile actors to imperil freedom of navigation in one of the world’s most critical commercial routes,” the president said.
“I will not hesitate to direct further measures to protect our people and the free flow of international commerce as necessary.”
The strikes came shortly after the White House called a lid on President Biden’s engagements for the evening as he was not expected to discuss the matter publicly. It also follows news that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had not notified the president or other officials of his whereabouts for several days while he was in the ICU at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

This has left many worried for potential further involvement in the Middle East again.
Some on X have shown their disdain for Joe Biden’s actions.

Even Democrats are upset at the move.
Read more about that from Fox News:
Some House Democrats are frustrated with the Biden administration for striking Houthi positions in Yemen without Congressional approval on Thursday night.
“The President needs to come to Congress before launching a strike against the Houthis in Yemen and involving us in another middle east conflict,” Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., wrote on X. “That is Article I of the Constitution.
“I will stand up for that regardless of whether a Democrat or Republican is in the White House,” he added.
ADVERTISEMENTPresident Biden announced in a statement that the U.S. led a coordinated airstrike in Yemen with the U.K. and support from Canada, Australia and Bahrain.
He said the targets were “used by Houthi rebels to endanger freedom of navigation in one of the world’s most vital waterways.”
“These airstrikes have NOT been authorized by Congress. The Constitution is clear: Congress has the sole authority to authorize military involvement in overseas conflicts. Every president must first come to Congress and ask for military authorization, regardless of party,” Rep. Val Hoyle, D-Ore., wrote on X.
Leave it to Biden to call an unauthorized military air strike on a foreign nation.
The Houthi rebels had to come up with how they were acting.
However, that doesn’t give Biden the right to bomb whoever he wants.
